  2. University Students Association To recognise the achievements of Students Association in the past twelve months in shaping education and empowering individuals 1. Explain the context and background of your submission. How did they identify the need/want to change? What objectives were set? 2. Describe what actions you took, and the challenges that arose. Put in place activities to benefit their members Can demonstrate student leadership Can demonstrate inclusivity in decision making Created or strengthened healthy partnerships where they are equal partners 3. What changes have been achieved? Outcomes and impact align to objective Demonstrate impact on their organisation (changed, policy, process, market research, vote, press releases, videos) Demonstrate impact on the parent institution (committee paper, changed policy, market research, press release, video) Demonstrate impact on their membership (market research, vote, video).

  4. Student of the Year To recognise outstanding dedication to their fellow students, Student s Association or local community. 1. Describe the background to and context to your submission. What has the student done to be an example of an outstanding and inspirational student and so deserve recognition? 2. Describe what actions were taken and the challenges that arose. Who has benefitted from the student s actions? What commitment to volunteering have they shown within the last 12 months? What level of dedication (in terms of time, resources and effort) has the student shown? 3. What changes have been achieved? What impact has the student made on the student population/student volunteering/local community/students association in the past year?

  5. Staff Member of the Year To recognise staff members that have lived the values of the student movement, empowering students to make change. 1. Describe the background to and context to your submission. 2. Describe what actions were taken and the challenges that arose. How have they fostered collaboration 3. What changes have been achieved? Can demonstrate leadership and inclusivity Collaborative approach has resulted in impact to benefit membership, institution, community or the student movement.

  6. Club/Society of the Year Award To recognise the exemplary work of those groups organised and led, by and for students. Clubs and Societies do everything from knitting to skydiving, from activisim to sport - and much more. They are a key aspect of the student experience. This award will go to the Club or Society that can demonstrate that they have effectively engaged with students, offered exciting and meaningful opportunities, created an inclusive and supportive environment and made a positive difference to the wider student community. 1. Describe the background to and context to your campaign. How did you identify the need/want to change? What objectives were set? 2. Describe the nature of the work and the challenges that arose. What partners were identified? Can the Union demonstrate student involvement? 3. What changes have been achieved? What barriers have been removed to access or attainment? How has this impacted their intention? How have they impacted the membership/future membership?

  7. Campaigns Award To recognise inclusive and impactful campaigns that empower Students Associations, improve students lives or campaign on issues faced by members. Campaigns Award nominations may also be submitted under other categories (Diversity/Education) and we actively welcome nominations of campaigns for which there isn t a separate category (Wellbeing/Sustainability/etc). 1. Explain the context and background of your submission. How did you identify the need/want to change? What objectives were set short and long term? Can you demonstrate student involvement in identifying the change that needed to be made? 2. Describe what actions you took and the challenges that arose. Were key influencers/decision makers identified? Can you demonstrate student involvement in the design and delivery of the campaign? How did you address/overcome any challenges faced? 3. What changes have been achieved? Outcomes and impact align to objectives set Can you evidence change credited to your campaign? (press release/article/committee paper/ impact report/video/evidence of behavioural change/ number of students involved in campaign who have continued to engage in further SU campaigns/ activities) Discuss the impact the campaign had on members/the SA/local community

  8. Liberation and Equality Award To recognise Students Associations that have demonstrated and strengthened their commitment to liberation and equality. 1. Explain the context and background of your submission. How did you identify the need for action What objectives were set? 2. Describe what actions you took, and the challenges that arose. Can the Union demonstrate that actions were inclusive 3. What changes have been achieved? What policies/processes were change or introduced as a result? How has this impacted the organisation? What outputs and impacts were achieved by the project/campaign/ideas the Union undertook? How has this work impacted the membership?

  9. Education Award To recognise a project/campaign/initiative that aims to improve access to or attainment in post-16 education. 1. Describe the background to and context to your campaign. How did you identify the need/want to change? What objectives were set? 2. Describe the nature of the work and the challenges that arose. What partners were identified? Can the Union demonstrate student involvement? 3. What changes have been achieved? What barriers have been removed to access or attainment? How has this impacted their intention? How have they impacted the membership/future membership?

  10. Community and Solidarity Award To recognise exceptional projects which have brought communities together and/or shown solidarity to students either in the UK or overseas. 1. Describe the background to and context to your campaign. How did you identify the need/want to change? What objectives were set? 2. Describe the nature of the work and the challenges that arose. What partners were identified? Can the Union demonstrate student involvement? 3. What changes have been achieved? What barriers have been removed to access or attainment? How has this impacted their intention? How have they impacted the membership/future membership?
