It provides helpful baseline information for a individual, group or business to analyse a problem. 3

It can be used both on a personal level, and on a business level. It has a reputation for providing value for money, choice and convenience. It is the market leader in its category, with a large market share and good, established relationships with suppliers. They are experiencing issues with keeping track of their large customer base and have poor cost efficiencies, making it difficult to expand overseas. They have recently received poor publicity due to a product recall. There is a new entrant to the market who have been operating globally and who have a strong online presence. This competitor has a reputation for providing quality products and quick delivery. Customers in Australia have been increasingly moving towards ordering their products online. 10
