2015 TPSID GRANT
The TPSID grant by the Federal Department of Education supports transition and postsecondary programs for students with intellectual disabilities. IDEAL SUMMER ACADEMY Week-long trial experience for prospective students Residential 12 students with ID/DD per year Classes, workshops, social events, volunteer opportunities 5 undergraduate counselors Opportunity for current IDEAL students to be junior counselors
PERSON-CENTERED PLANNING Will occur two times during the program: Intake After 1st year Focus on self-determination and career exploration One-page plans will be created to share with peers, faculty, and internship supervisors
TRANSITION TO WORK 3RD YEAR Partnership with Goodwill of Middle TN Career Solutions Must apply for 3rd year 20 hours/week off-campus 10-12 hours/week on-campus Job placement Reduced tuition
