  1. November-December 2020 Street Dept. Report

  2. Public Works Shop Identify and create initial outline for new shop layout to maximize space and workflow. Each shop bay to be permanently designated for a specific season of the year, (will cut down on constant re-organization and clutter while creating better storage and easy access) with one bay used solely for repairs and maintenance of city equipment and assets. Began office remodel process with purchase and delivery of supplies and items needed. Construction to begin third week of December (12/21/2020). Housekeeping and vehicle maintenance schedule forms have been added and completed daily/weekly for increased accountability and timely repairs. Inventory of perishable items (cold patch asphalt, ice melt, weed killer, joint sealent, salt sand, gravel). IT work on Street Dept. laptop.

  3. Equipment Repairs 2005 Chevy K-2500: Vacuum leak & heater blower fan (Scott s), headlights, backing lights and covers replacement, oil change. 2016 Chevrolet K-2500: Left front tire leak repair. Detachable plow lights repair and re-mount. 2013 Ford F-150: Oil change 2001 International (Blue) Dump Truck: Hydraulic line leak, replace faulty gauges, electrical/lights repair/replacement, oil change (Denning s Transportation). 2005 International (White) Tandem: Plow and taillights replacement, exhaust work, hydraulic hose replacement, oil change (Denning s Transportation). 1991 GMC Sidekick Sander Truck: Electrical/lights repair, plow lights and hydraulic cylinder coupling replacement, dump bed vibrator repair. 2008 Cat 924H Loader: Joystick control and horn adjustment, new hydraulic hoses, new grapple fork tines (Butler Cat). Car trailer: Repair two tire leaks. 2016 Bobcat S-590: New hazard light installation, inspection/tune-up (Butler Cat). 1997 Bobcat 773: Inspection/tune-up (Butler Cat). 2014 Bomag Tandem Roller: Inspection/ oil & filter change. 2002 Elgin Street Sweeper: Replacement of steel gutter brushes, all grease zerks maintenanced, fluids check.

  4. Street Maintenance and Repairs Outline identifying areas of work as well as 2021 crack sealing schedule. (Stockwell) Removal and replacement of Speed Limit sign, post and cleat at intersection of W. 1stAve and Juniper St. that was damaged during Central Basin III construction. Gravel surface maintenance: -Harrison St. between 3rd& 4thAve. -4thAve. between Cleveland St. and Harrison St. -N. Elm between Rummel Ave. and Boynton Ave. Removal of overlaid gravel from 11/10/2020 snow plowing at intersection of 3rdAve. & Harrison St. as well as N. Juniper from ROW to dead end. High traffic areas swept (Main, Elm, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th)

  5. Training One employee attended Wastewater Collection Webinar by SDARWS December 1-3 (22 hours) for re-certification of water/wastewater collection class 1. Also registered for water/wastewater collection recertification exam. Snow plow/removal training for employees.
