  12. Q&A 1. What is an individual v. family Deductible and Out of Pocket Maximum (OOP)? There are 2 types of Deductibles and OOP Maximums: embedded and aggregate. With an embedded deductible, individuals on a double or family plan only need to meet the individual caps for deductible and OOP. This is how the Summary of Benefits and Coverage reads for an embedded plan: With an aggregate deductible, the double or family must collectively reach the family caps before the deductible and out of pocket are met. This is how the Summary of Benefits and Coverage reads for an aggregate plan: The Gold, Silver and Basic plans have an embedded deductible & out of pocket maximum. The Bronze plan has an aggregate deductible & out of pocket maximum. 12

  13. Q&A 2. Which plan is best? It depends; the answer is not the same for everyone. Things to consider are: Cost out of paycheck for premium contributions annually v. cost share (or exposure ) of using plan throughout the year Type of care you are likely to use with greatest frequency (Office visits? Inpatient care? Rx?) and what each plan pays towards that type of care Overall maximum exposure for each plan (Out of Pocket maximum) Comfort or aversion to risk HRA first-dollar coverage with Gold; Health Savings Account eligible with Bronze 3. Will the open enrollment information be recorded and posted to view later? Yes! Recordings of each presentation will be posting on the Open Enrollment 2021 tab of the Employee Benefits Center. 13
