  3. What is Academic Program Review (APR)? APR is a quality review process of degree programs to evaluate program academic quality and sustainability focusing on mission-fit, curriculum quality, academic viability, and the student experience. an orderly method to regularly review academic offerings a collaborative process to evaluate and improve program tied into the University timeline of program revision process

  4. What is the process for APR at Concordia? APR offers faculty the opportunity to evaluate enrollment trends cost of instruction (section information) indicators of student success currency, relevance, and marketability of the curriculum. APR offers the opportunity to develop aspirations for stimulating prospective student interest and growing enrollment, and chart a course to achieve these goals.

  5. What is considered in APR? APR will review programs using the following sources of evidence: 1. Program narrative and relationship to other programs/majors & LCMS (new) 2. Program curriculum 3. Vision or mission 4. PLOs and connection to GLOs 5. Key disciplinary trends 6. Peer program comparisons 7. Changes made by program based on assessment data 8. Licensure exam pass rates (where applicable) 9. Student engagement and success data 10. Operational/financial data Other sources of evidence may be requested by the committee.

  6. What is the process for APR at Concordia? The process may lead to a recommendation to 1. suspend/discontinue a major or program 2. to move a program/major to a different academic unit within the university 3. to merge with another academic program, 4. to modify curriculum to ensure currency and relevance.

University data provided in a workbook 02/15 Department downloads the workbook Department completes and submits workbook 05/15 APRST review completed in 06 Recommendations go to Deans 07/03 Dean meet with programs to chart a course July/August Programs submit academic program proposal before 11/20
