Total of 1+1.5(additionally requested) + 1 (allocated in Athens) TUs were temporally requested for normative phase in 2023. 2.5 TUs have been used. Revised WID (SP-230109) sent for approval to SA#99 . RAN impacts and dependencies: None Next steps: Solve Editor s notes in 23.501 Finalize AMF/MME satellite information provisioning item. 4. SA#99 (1) SP-230109 (WID REVISED) Revised WID: 5GC/EPC enhancement for satellite access Phase 2 (5GSAT_Ph2). (Source: SA WG2) => New completion dates (june23) and impacted specifications SP-230049 (CR PACK) CRs on 5GSAT_Ph2 (Rel-18) (Source: SA WG2) 23.700-28 CR0001R1; 23.501 CR3966R3; 23.501 CR4020R6; 23.501 CR4033R11; 23.501 CR3956R11. => 2 CRs are removed from pack, discussed and finally approved with additional Ens (cf SP-230387 & SP-230387) Plenary Discussion: Qualcomm raised some issues on 23.501 CR4033R11 and 23.501 CR3956R11. There had been no agreement to standardise Satellite coverage availability information in the stage 3 so either this needs to be removed and replaced with an indication that it is outside the scope of 3GPP. Intel asked whether an editor's note could be added to leave this FFS. Huawei commented that the Stage 3 discussion is on how to specify this, rather than to exclude it at present. Interdigital considered adding an editor's note should be decided by SA WG2, rather than this meeting. Nokia commented that the Stage 3 WGs should collaborate with SA WG2 to align this, rather than doing this at the TSG level. This was left for off- line discussion and the CRs revised in SP-230368 and SP-230369. 23.501 CR4033R11 and 23.501 CR3956R11 were considered revised. This CR pack was partially approved. Status: Partially approved.

  5. SA#99 (2) SP-230368 (CR) 23.501 CR4033R12 (Rel-18, 'B'): Support of discontinuous coverage (Source: Qualcomm) Summary of change: Add support of mobility management and power saving with discontinuous satellite coverage. Comment: Revision of 23.501 CR4033R11 in CR Pack SP-230049. Plenary Discussion: Huawei asked for the reason for the additional editor's note. Qualcomm clarified that if the information sent to the network is not standardized, it will be unreliable, so a response on the validity of the information should be provided and the AMF standardized information used instead. Intel suggested modifying the first editor's note to refer to the FFS on specification of the information being in Scope and removing the second Editor's note as it is outside TSG SA expertise and should be reviewed by SA WG2. This was left for further off-line discussion and revised in SP-230386. This was reviewed and approved. Status: Approved. SP-230369 (CR) 23.501 CR3956R12 (Rel-18, 'B'): Transfer of Satellite Coverage Data to a UE and AMF (Source: Qualcomm) Summary of change: Add support for transfer of coverage availability to a UE and to an AMF. Comment: Revision of 23.501 CR3956R11 in CR Pack SP-230049. Plenary Discussion: Intel commented that this does not only impact CT WG1. This was left for further off-line discussion and revised in SP-230387. This was reviewed and approved. Status: Approved.

  6. List of open items for SA2#156e and SA2#157 (Berlin) (1) List of open items for SA2#156e and SA2#157 (Berlin) (1) Satellite coverage availability information: this refers to location and time information related to expected coverage availability of satellite/satellite constellation that provides discontinuous coverage. Editor's Note: Whether the definition of Satellite coverage availability information applies only to information provisioned to the AMF or both to UE and AMF is FFS. CT1 impact 5.4.X Support of discontinuous network coverage for satellite access Editor's Note: Which RAT Types these procedures are applied to is to be determined Capability negotiation between UE and network for the features introduced for discontinuous network coverage for satellite access is FFS. Editor s note: If the UE is able to determine its own UE out-of-coverage period: It is FFS whether the UE can also indicate how long it will be available before the unavailability period starts. Whether Support of Unavailability Period (clause 5.4.1.4) can be used directly without updates is to be determined. Editor s note: Editor s note: Editor's Note: How the procedure of UE sending out-of-coverage period will be affected if the Satellite coverage availability information that is sent to the UE is not standardised is FFS. CT1 impact It is FFS whether the AMF can provide an expected unavailability duration in the Registration Accept also if the UE provided an out-of-coverage time the Registration Request. Editor s note:

  7. List of open items for SA2#156e and SA2#157 (Berlin) (2) List of open items for SA2#156e and SA2#157 (Berlin) (2) Coverage availability information provisioning to the UE Editor's Note: Whether the protocol used over the user plane between the UE and the external server to provide the satellite coverage availability information is standardised or not is FFS. CT1 impact Editor's Note: Whether the format of the Satellite coverage availability information provisioned to UE will be standardised or not is FFS. CT1 impact Coverage availability information provisioning to the AMF It needs to be determined whether both sources (i.e. O&M and AF) of satellite coverage availability information will be supported or just one of them. Editor s Note: Editor's Note: Whether NEF exposure procedure can be re-used for provisioning satellite coverage availability information from the AF is FFS.

  8. Prepare Prepare next next SA2#156e SA2#156e Time Unit limitation: Only 0.5TUs (15 documents) will be considered for the meeting, but Discussion Paper (for Information) will be exempted (see agenda) Rapporteur proposal to address such limitation: Re-submit Tdocs that have been postponed or widthdrawn in Athens (if still relevant!). According the CC 29032023 discussion on Editor s Notes, share and submit a single revision of both SP-230386 and SP-230387 to be the unique starting point for discussions during the meeting.
