8th SPC HOF Meeting: Coastal Fisheries Programme Overview
The 8th SPC HOF Meeting held in Noumea in March 2013 focused on the Coastal Fisheries Programme with presentations on goals, science, management activities, and funding. The program aims for sustainable management and development of coastal fisheries, nearshore fisheries, and aquaculture in the PICTs. Staffing, budget details, and various projects under the programme were also discussed.

CFP staffing and funding Currently 18 professional and 2 support staff in position 1 professional staff position lost in June 2013 12-month PIJP position under recruitment 2012 budget of around USD $5.3 million (4.9 million CFP units) roughly 25% recurrent and 75% project 2013 budget will be roughly the same, by reducing in 2014 with projects ending.
