Overview References: District 6 TAPI Tournament Rules 2014 Baseball Official Regulations and Playing Rules Manager s Meeting: 4 June 2014 (Wednesday) Review / clarify rules Draw for seeds Tournament Dates: 14 - 21 June 2014 6 teams in tournament One 3-team bracket; top two teams advance (Fields C) One 3-team bracket; top two teams advance (Field D) Four-team single elimination tournament (Fields C and D) Weekday games begin at 6:00 pm Saturday games begin at 10:00 am $100 and a dozen balls per team PCLL

Administrative 1 manager and 2 coaches allowed in dugout (3 total); can warm up pitchers Home team provides official scorer Both teams provide announcers; have the National Anthem and LL Pledge available (first game and last) No team specific motivational music; no walk-up music (in-between inning music is allowed) Each team provides $100 and 1 box of balls for the tournament Safety Bring your own first aid kits (PCLL will also provide) All managers must know where the defibrillator is located (coaches closet on East side of clubhouse) Managers will ensure their dugout has water Lightning indicator all clear: 30 minutes after alarm (hard to hear and see from Field D pay attention!) The clubhouse is the only lightning safe area No jewelry (unless medical) Swinging bunts and fake bunt/swings are not allowed (one warning, followed by the batter being called out) 12-13 player teams (9-year-old tournament with 8-year-olds eligible [case by case]) Continuous batting order All players must play 6 defensive outs in the field, and hit once (change from TAPI) Based on 6 inning game (if less than six innings are played, only 3 defensive outs and one at bat required) 5-Run Rule and Infield Fly in effect; no dropped third strikes Curfews: No inning will begin after 10:00 pm Weather decisions Prior to game: Tournament Director / Asst. Tourney Director During game: Umpire PCLL

Rule Highlights Pitch counts and rest (per 2014 Little League Rules and Regulations manual) Max pitch count for 9-year-olds: 75 66+ pitches: 4 calendar days rest required 51-65 pitches: 3 calendar days rest required 36-50 pitches: 2 calendar days rest required 21-35 pitches: 1 calendar day rest required 1-20 pitches: No rest required A pitcher who delivers 41 or more pitches in a game cannot play the position of catcher for the remainder of that day. There is no reciprocal rule in the handbook. Duration of games: For the initial pool play games: At the 1 hour mark, one more inning will be played (open) For the final four single elimination tournament: 6 innings will be played 10-run rule after regulation game is complete (3 - 4 innings) Weather: replay if less than one inning played; suspended if more than 1 and less than a regulation game If tied, extra innings will be played until the 10:00 pm curfew is met (open innings) If the lightning indicator goes off continuously, a night game will be called at 9:00 No double headers; however, suspended games can be finished Must manage days of rest and number of pitches per day if finishing a suspended game Read p.39 for suspended game pitching requirements PCLL

Logistics Prior to game Conduct field maintenance and set up score tables 1 hours prior to game Visitors take the field 30 minutes from start Home team takes field 20 minutes from start Umpire meeting 10 minutes prior to start Announce teams, play the National Anthem followed by the Little League Pledge 5 minutes prior to start (your first game, and the championship game) Record the exact minute of the first pitch in the scorebook. Medallions for 1st and 2ndplace finishers (Nathan Scott at Brown s) Coordinate with Brandy for food, Jordan for umpires and the concessions stand Official scorer fills out end of game form: win, loss (runs against), and pitch counts (post on web each day) Turn on lights prior to the start of night games Update volunteer chart daily One scorebook per field (2 total) Drink List (for umpires and volunteers): 2 cases each of Coke, Dr. Pepper, Diet Coke, and Mountain Dew 4 cases of water 4 cases of Gator Aid Multiple assortment packs of chips Sponsorship (David Stone) PCLL
