Arrival - 8:35 a.m. - 8:50 a.m. Students unload their backpacks, make a lunch choice, and have all materials and assignments ready for the day.
Writing - 8:50 a.m. - 9:50 a.m. Materials: Writing Notebook, Writing Folder Our Units: Poetry, Personal Narrative, Personal Essay, Research Based Argument Essay, Memoir
Social Studies and Science 9:50 a.m. - 10:50 a.m. Social Studies: Materials: Social Studies Notebook, Social Studies Textbook, and other resources Our Units: Cultures Meet, Establishing Colonies, From Colonies to Country, and The New Nation Science: Materials: Science Notebook Our Units: Sun, Moon, and Planets, Mixtures and Solutions, and Force and Motion
Specials 10:50 a.m. - 11:50 a.m. Specials - Music, Spanish and P.E. Library - 1:10 p.m. - 1:40 p.m. Art - 9:50 a.m. 10:50 a.m. Orchestra -Comes out of Specials on a rotating basis
Recess and Lunch 11:50 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Reading 12:30 p.m. - 1:50 p.m. Materials: Independent Reading Books, Book Club Books, Reading Scrapbook Our Units: Launching Reading Workshop: Agency and Independence, Historical Fiction, Following Characters Into Meaning, Nonfiction, Reading for Justice and Power, and Author Study: Reading Like a Fan
Math 1:50 p.m. - 3:20 p.m. Materials: Math In Focus Textbook (5A and 5B), Math In Focus Workbook (5A and 5B), Math Notebook, Manipulatives, Online Math Resources accessible through the website
Homework - After School Used to reinforce skills introduced in class and a learning tool to spring-board to the next lesson 50 60 minutes assuming assignments in class are completed in a timely manner. School Expectation: Daily Homework may include: Reading Word Study Writing Science or Social Studies Assignments Math Homework FASTT Math Long Term Assignments Planner Signed
