  2. Anointing of Jesus at Bethany Mark 14: 3 9 Matthew 26: 6 13 John 12: 1 8 Evangel Christian Fellowship

  3. 1. Pleasing God requires a sharp/sensitive vision Mark 14:3 And while he was at Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he was reclining at table, a woman came with an alabaster flask of ointment of pure nard, very costly, and she broke the flask and poured it over his head. Evangel Christian Fellowship

  4. Our actions are guided and driven by the visions we have; Right visions of Jesus can only come from God; Vision of Jesus is maintained and developed by our passion for Him; It is intense passion that sustains radical sacrifices. Evangel Christian Fellowship

  5. 2. Pleasing God will attract criticism and opposition Mark 14:4-5 There were some who said to themselves indignantly, "Why was the ointment wasted like that? (5) For this ointment could have been sold for more than three hundred denarii and given to the poor." And they scolded her. Evangel Christian Fellowship

  6. It is a Gethsemane experience and can be a very lonely place; Easily misunderstood, as it goes against the accepted norm or what is considered reasonable; Very often ridiculed and even mistreated; It is the Grace of God that shines brightly in the hearts of God-pleasers. Evangel Christian Fellowship

  7. 3. Pleasing God has its heart to glorify God Mark 14:6-8 But Jesus said, "Leave her alone. Why do you trouble her? She has done a beautiful thing to me. (7) For you always have the poor with you, and whenever you want, you can do good for them. But you will not always have me. (8) She has done what she could; she has anointed my body beforehand for burial. Evangel Christian Fellowship

  8. The main purpose of our existence is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. We are made in the image of God and are to reflect the glory of God. Our lives, families, vocations and relationships are designed with this specific purpose, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven . It is in the context of glorifying God and we find our life purpose. Evangel Christian Fellowship

  9. 4. Pleasing God get its praise from God Mark 14:9 And truly, I say to you, wherever the gospel is proclaimed in the whole world, what she has done will be told in memory of her." Evangel Christian Fellowship
