Loving the work Seeing the resilience in people at times of deep stress Being able to offer resources & connect families & students to real help Knowing that education CAN make a difference for a student s future The feeling of actually making a difference to a child or family Working with other like-minded, committed, dedicated folks who want to make a difference for kids & families 4

  5. The Feel Good File A chronically late & absent middle school student A homeless parent in an abusive relationship Alternative ed graduate Superintendent & reluctant liaison WMU Foundation Scholars 5

Change: Local to State Level - + Broader influence on the field/work Opportunity to leverage important partnerships Impact change at a higher level Influence more children, youth & families Missing the direct work with kids & families Deeper connections with families & community Additional administrative duties SEA bureaucracy 6
