A Key Piece of the Puzzle: The EQuIP NGSS Rubric & Delaware s NGSS Implementation Plan Shelley Rouser and John Moyer Delaware Department of Education
#1 EQuIP trained the Delaware Reading Cadre. The EQuIP rubric is used to evaluate lessons and units created and piloted by Reading Cadre to be posted as models on our website. #2 ELA Education Associates and University of Delaware partners use the EQuIP rubric to give targeted feedback to participants of our State Personnel Development Grant (SPDG).
#3 Delaware Literacy Coalition and Administrators Delaware Literacy Coalition participants are LEA Administrators of Curriculum and Instruction. Coalition participants partnered with their school principals for training on the EQuIP rubric. Participant Feedback: The EQuIP rubric training gave me the opportunity to internalize the language needed when conducting evaluations. it also gave me look-fors when discussing lesson content, where gaps exist in units, and how to help teachers with targeted professional development and resources.
Additional Training and Uses of the EQuIP Rubric #4 EQuIP trained members of our Institutes of Higher Education; participants were able to gain a deeper knowledge of the CCSS and discussed ways to use the rubric in teacher preparation programs. #5 The Delaware Department of Education uses sections 1 and 4 when reviewing applications of potential Charters.
