A Story of Heritage #6 ENN NOUVO D PAR BAMBOUS, 2024
A Story of Heritage Luke15 A man had two sons. 12 The younger one said to his father, Father, give me my share of the estate. So he divided his property between them. 13 Not long after that, the younger son gathered all he had, set off for a distant country, and there squandered his wealth in wild living.
-The younger son asks his father for his share of the inheritance. -The father gives it without asking any questions. -He gathers all his money and leaves to squander his wealth. -A famine arises, and he finds no way to eat. -He thinks of his father s house. -He tells himself that the servants there have enough to eat. -He believes that with a confession and a request for work, things will improve. -His father welcomes him back and organizes a celebration in his honor. -His elder brother does not understand the reasons for such rejoicing. -The father reminds him of the essence of the situation: a true resurrection...
If this father is like God the Father Respect for freedom Taking risks Means to survive (facing challenges) He does not send anyone to find his son
The Awakening 17 "When he came to his senses, he said: How many of my father s hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! 18 I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. 19 I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants."
A Resilient Approach 20 "So he got up and went to his father."
The Sons Language I will get up I will go I will say I have sinned against Treat me like
The Reconnection While he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him, and kissed him long and affectionately.
The Fathers Language (His Attitude) Seeing from afar Running Embracing Dressing Preparing Rejoicing Bringing back to life...
The Misunderstanding of the Elder Son Then he answered his father: All these years I ve been slaving for you and never disobeyed your orders. Yet you never gave me even a young goat so I could celebrate with my friends. But when this son of yours who has squandered your property with prostitutes comes home, you kill the fattened calf for him! (Verses 29, 30)
These are action verbs filled with emotional weight. A sense of bitterness reaches our ears, and this is a sign of God s wisdom when he wants to teach men and women of our time. He has worked hard and has forgotten to love... this loving father. His overall view of his situation has trapped him in a negative comparison, a comparison that drags him down, to the point where he cannot even use the expression mybrother to refer to his younger sibling.
