An ongoing process to actively engage students to: develop an understanding of his or her self create a vision of his or her future develop individual goals prepare a personal plan for achieving the vision and goals STUDENT DRIVEN & ONGOING A product that documents and reflects students : coursework, learning and assessment results post-secondary plans aligned to career goals & financial reality record of college and career readiness skills. DYNAMIC & FLEXIBLE

  3. The ACP Model Mission Empower ALL students to travel the road TO adulthood through education and training to careers! Vision Reimagining K-12 education to equip students with meaningful and supportive adult relationships and the ability to adapt to opportunities and challenges on their personalized journeys to successful lives.

ACP Implementation District leadership team : School based leadership teams Team members selected based on passion and ability to influence their peers Planned as an entire system first, back mapping from career and College Readiness outcomes What do we want a successful graduate from SDJ to look like in 5 years, 10 years and beyond?

  5. ACP Implementation 6-8th Identified portfolio completion standards 9-12th Anchor Courses and outcomes K-5thEvaluate curriculum to ensure protective behaviors and self awareness are explicitly taught

  6. ACP Implementation District leadership team : School based leadership teams (key staff members leading) K-5 CC Spark 6-12 Career Cruising Key Coursework for all Students 6th grade: transitions (45 days) 9th grade: freshman seminar (1 semester) 11th grade: personal finance (1 semester)

  7. ACP Implementation High School Course guide shift to ACP planning guide Analyzed what we were offering, and why. Checking for alignment to Career and College Readiness outcomes. Master Schedule Clean Up Strategic process to ensure all courses and course numbers were present and that any and all history was linked. Course planner set up occurred after clean up

  8. ACP Implementation Teacher PD on Career Cruising as well as ACP process School based implementation planning is ongoing 8th grade ACP conferences with students and families 10th grade ACP conferences with students and families

  10. ACP Next Steps Ongoing staff PD and planning with all staff All staff and all content embed both the process and product within their curriculum All staff identify key artifacts as evidence of mastery of course outcomes aligned to career and college readiness
