ATTENDANCE POLICY THREE TYPES OF ABSENCES EXCUSED ABSENCES EXCUSED ABSENCES Pre-arranged religious holidays, funerals, verified medical and legal appointments, and all school related activities, including ISS. VALIDATED ABSENCES VALIDATED ABSENCES Brief illness, appointments, & family business. A phone call or note is required to be validated. UNEXCUSED ABSENCES UNEXCUSED ABSENCES No note or phone call from parent/guardian, cutting class, tardiness of more than 10 minutes to class, and OSS. Due process requires that an appeal may be filed due to loss of credit because of absences.

If one of the final grades for a semester is F, the total quality points earned for the year must be at least ten (10) to earn a passing grade for the year. B. At least one quality point must be earned in each semester. C. Grade Classification Grade Classification Zero Grade Progression For the first three years a student is in high school, the student will advance from one grade level designation to the next based upon completion of a school year of attendance. To be classified a senior, a student must accumulate a minimum of 17 credits and have an un-weighted GPA of 1.9

  16. Schedule Selections Schedule Selections We begin scheduling in February, 2016 Please select courses carefully during spring scheduling. Due to the Classroom Size Reduction Amendment, we do not have the flexibility in the schedule we once had and cannot overload classes to accommodate schedule change requests. Be very cautious with Parent Overrides and AP Contracts- students will NOT be dropped from these courses.

Planning for the Future Planning for the Future Rigor of Schedule PSAT/College Admissions Tests All Sophomores & some Juniors take the PSAT on Oct.14th All students that plan to attend college should take the SAT I and/or the ACT in the Spring of their Junior year ASVAB - Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery open to 10th, 11th, and 12th graders on Oct. 27th. Sign up in Guidance Dual Enrollment, Advanced Placement and AICE Laureate Diploma & AICE Diploma

Advanced Placement at BC Each year approximately 20 AP courses are offered College Board curriculum and training for instructors Required AP testing takes place in May for all courses Passing AP exams with a 3 or better (1- 5 scale) secures college credit (assignment of credit varies by university)

Participate in at least two school-based demonstrations of excellence per year upon application for the diploma or certificate.
