Accelerating Localisation through Partnerships Accelerating Localisation through Partnerships Date: 1stNovember 2017 31stOctober 2019 (2 years) Countries: Nepal, Nigeria, Myanmar and South Sudan Consortium: ActionAid, CAFOD, CARE, Christian Aid (lead), Oxfam and Tearfund + local/national NGOs (L/NNGOs) in steering committees Donor: European Union Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO) Budget: >650,000 EUR Specific objective: Enable local and national actors to progress the localisation of humanitarian response at both national and global level.
Key activities Key activities 1. Building an evidence base research 2. Piloting research recommendations in partnerships 3. Capacity self-assessments by local actors 4. Development of national localisation frameworks 5. Development of Pathways to Localisation: a global framework

Purpose Purpose Purpose: To provide guidance on partnership practices which enable local and national actors to take a greater lead in humanitarian action. Audience: those implementing or funding humanitarian action through partnerships (and committed to localisation), including: International NGOs United Nations agencies Local and national actors Donor agencies Government authorities

Guidance note reviewed, edited and validated in 3 regional localisation conferences (Africa, MENA, Asia-Pacific) 2nddraft. Further reviewed and edited by other key stakeholders final draft. Now: for review by Grand Bargain Localisation Workstream.

Feedback to consider Feedback to consider Can we reduce the number of points? Do we need to highlight who the points are intended for? Does it include (enough) actions for local and national actors? Is the format the best way to present this information? Do we need indicators so we can measure baseline/progress? How much do we need to contextualise for the response/country? Are there edits that are needed for consistency in language with the other guidance notes (e.g. capacity exchange rather than sharing )?
