eConsult eConsult is a secure web-based tool that allows physicians or nurse practitioners timely access to specialist advice for all patients and often eliminates the need for an in-person specialist visit.
Why Use eConsult? Why Use eConsult? Get specialist advice for your patient fast - on average within one day (expected turnaround time is 7 days) Provides the opportunity to inform clinical decision making without sending the patient to see a specialist in person Uses secure encrypted communication channels and encrypts all data stored by the service Decreases wait times for diagnosis/treatment Decreases travel for patients Improves care coordination between primary care and specialists Manages patient care at the practice level where patient trust is the highest 120 different specialties, over 1200 specialist providers

OneID created on CPSO portal (MD) or LRA for NP OTN account uses OneID and password Referral Process Submitted through OTN Portal or PSS Ocean to OTN eConsult Integration Notification of answered consult, received through email Capacity/Wait Times Median Response time 1 Day (expected turnaround time is 7 days) How am I compensated? The use of eConsult is funded by the Ministry of Health and is available at no cost for primary care clinicians and specialists Where applicable, family physicians can bill OHIP using K738 fee code
