Social Connection Think of your favourite film. Or a film you know the story of. In filmmaking this is called a logline. Share the story of the film in 1 or 2 sentences. Everyone else can try to guess the title of the film! 3 minutes thinking and preparation time. Ask for help if you need it. You can write down the 1 or 2 sentences to help you prepare.
Todays filmmaking goals Writing the Treatment Title: The name of the film. 1. To write a 1 - 2 page Treatment. Logline: 1-2 sentence description of the film. 2. To create the title and logline for our film. Treatment: 1-2 page document explaining the detail of the film. This is a plan to help us write the script.
The Screenwriting Process 5. 4. Write the second draft of the script. Submit the draft. 3. Write the script. Head of Screen Review in Week 5. 2. Structure the script We ll all have a role to play. Plan out the story: Set out headings, action and dialogue. This is called the Treatment.

How to write a Treatment 1 Genre 2 Treatment: Story idea 3 1-2 page document explaining the detail of the film. Characters This is what the Treatment document will help us to come up with. 4 Structure 5 Plot twists This makes it easier to write the script. 6 Supporting cast 7 Resolution
Writing the Treatment But first . We are going to be sharing ideas. We are going to move forward with some ideas. We will not move forward with other ideas. How can we challenge each other s ideas in a respectful way? How do we fix it if things go wrong or we say the wrong thing? What do we need to avoid doing or saying?
Writing the Treatment Treatment: 1-2 page document explaining the detail of the film. Let s go through the Treatment template. We can write the Treatment as a whole group or in small groups. Hand it to your workshop leader at the end of the exercise.
