  2. Who are INBAF ? Mission: Mission: to advocate, support and advise on all aspects of accessible Formats. Background Background: Founded in 2011. Originally an umbrella group for Braille producers - but has expanded since. Founding Members Founding Members Library Access Services at Vision Ireland Reading Services at Childvision Arbour Hill Braille Production Service o o o

  3. Our Work to Date o Successfully introduced the new Unified English Braille (UEB code in Ireland. o Completely updated the Irish Braille Code ( UIB). o Developed Guidelines for teaching of STEM subjects with Braille. o Continuous engagement with the community to inform and support on alternative formats and accessibility. o Recently joined as Associate Members of the Disability Federation of Ireland.

  4. Who Uses Accessible Formats? Anyone who finds accessing regular print difficult: Anyone who finds accessing regular print difficult: o People who are Blind or Vision Impaired. o People with reading difficulties such as Dyslexia. o People with a physical disability that stops them from accessing print.

  5. Challenges and Opportunities in Accessible Production Challenges: Challenges: o Time and costs. o Inequity in digital format creation. Accessibility varies depending on Assistive Technology. Opportunities: Opportunities: o Creating Accessible Content is the right thing to do! o European Accessibility Act 2025. Setting accessibility standards in Europe.
