  2. Library Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) contains records of all library holdings, and serves as a search guide for easy retrieval of library materials. To access the Library Catalog, visit AURAK website (http://aurak.ac.ae), then click Library or open the library webpage through http://aurak.ac.ae/en/library/. The library webpage will then be displayed. Then, click on Library Catalog under the Related Links within the library webpage. AURAK SAQR LIBRARY

Log in using your User ID and pin, only if you need to check your library account, request library materials, renew borrowed library materials, contact the librarians for library concerns, etc. User ID is the ID card number of the students, faculty, and staff issued by the IT Department. Pin is issued by the library. To get your pin, you should contact the library. AURAK SAQR LIBRARY

Searching library catalog doesnt require to log in, just use the quick search by typing the keyword/s through the following search index: Words or Phrase : e.g. Civil Engineering, Accounting etc. Title : e.g. Fundamentals of Engineering etc. Author : i.e. name of the author, editor etc. Subject : e.g. ENGINEERING, BUSINESS etc. Series : e.g. Scientific Series etc. Periodical Titles : i.e. title of the journals etc. AURAK SAQR LIBRARY

  6. Or Advanced Search using the Boolean Search (AND, OR, NOT) AURAK SAQR LIBRARY

  7. For Example: Searching the keyword Computer using the search index Title AURAK SAQR LIBRARY

  8. Search Results will display all available books and other library materials in the library based on your searched keyword/s. To locate the library materials, get the call number of the selected item from search result. Call number in the Catalog is exactly the same as the call number labeled on the spine of the book.   9. HOW TO READ A CALL NUMBER? A call number is like an address it tells where an item is located in the library. SAQR Library uses the Library of Congress Classification system to shelve items on the same topic together. Each cataloged item has a unique call number that begins with one, two, or three capital letters followed by numbers. Most call numbers appear on the spine of the item. Read It - Read the call number from top-to-bottom, line by line TK - Read in alphabetical order First Line - Example: LB before LC 5105.5 - Read numerically (smaller number before larger number) - Example: 5105.5 before 5106 .T36 - Read the letter alphabetically.Read the number as a decimal Third Line - Example: .T354 before T.36 Second Line 2014 - Read the publication date, volume or copy number and/or other Fourth Line annotations.   10. Once you have the call number (e.g. TK 5105.5 .T36 2014), go to the shelves and look for it. Books are labeled with a call number which begins with a capital letter/s, and arranged alphabetically (A,B,C,D ) The book from the shelves with call number : TK 5105.5 .T36 2014 AURAK SAQR LIBRARY
