Previous Plan Achievements Under the 2017-2021 CU Gender Equity Plan (GEP), CU Athletics achieved many important gains for gender equity, including specific action items to support female student-athletes. -Updated women s lacrosse and women s volleyball locker room space in the CU Events Center. -Women s soccer (and women s lacrosse in inclement weather) is now part of the IPF practice schedule during their off-season. -A patio was constructed at Prentup Field with picnic tables, umbrellas, a concession stand, and a Fanatics team store to create a better game-day atmosphere for the fans. -A large video board is now transported to Prentup and Kittridge during home competitions. 2
Previous Plan Achievements We also were able to align our comparable sports in many ways: -Ensure Men s and Women s sport programs provide comparable per diem during team travel and University breaks. -Equalize Men s Golf and Women s Golf HC salaries. -Structure WBB HC contract to mirror MBB HC contract. -Increased WBB recruiting budget to align with the number of students they are recruiting each year. 3
Overview For the 2022-2025 GEP, through physical assessments, data analysis, and audits of departmental practices and procedures, the Task Force concluded that, on balance, the CU Boulder Athletics Department provides a fair and substantially similar experience for all student-athletes. Across the board, all programs have equal access to all student-athlete support areas including our Psychological, Health and Performance program, Nutrition and Academic support. This Gender Equity Plan aims to build on the advancements of its predecessor and continue to move CU Athletics closer to the gender equality ideal. During the review process, residual equity concerns were identified and discussed along with new opportunities for improvement. The recommendations within each section are high-impact changes that would result in significant benefit to the greatest number of student-athletes. 4

Component 3 Laundry List The Benefits and Treatment prong of the Title IX test encompasses all other aspects of the student-athlete experience beyond participation opportunities and scholarships. Once a student-athlete gains access to partake in athletics and receives adequate funding to do so, this third assessment focuses on the practical application of equity - the day-to-day provisions, accommodations, services, and support provided to student- athletes by the Department. As mentioned previously, CU Athletics has continually provided equitable access across the board in numerous areas like Academics, Psychological Health and Performance and Nutrition. Other laundry list items are more challenging to simply provide equitable access and the task force did an incredible job of reviewing and analyzing each component. 13
Component 3 Laundry List The Championship Success Metric was a way to quantify the success of a head coach in a manner that was not dependent on/biased by years in the field. We asked coaches to report the number of team championships won (where we defined championships to include only team conference championships won and team national championships won) and national team post-season appearances. Coaches were asked to include collegiate-level results only and could include results from any head coach or assistant coach level positions they have held (excluding graduate assistantships). We then divided the numbers received from coaches by the number of years they had been coaching (at these levels) to create a per-year metric. Since we were asking for a combination of 3 data points, it is possible that a coach had more than one of the success points in a year and, as such, the maximum value for the CSM for any coach would be 3.0 per year. 14
Recommendations Incorporate Participation Opportunities in the Athletics strategic plan to be reviewed annually. Encourage and support coaches to award more aid within women s programs to match as closely as possible to the NCAA s equivalency limitations. Add this recommendation to the Athletics strategic plan. Sport supervisors should conduct mid-year check-ins with all student-athletes, not just exiting student-athletes, to ensure any issues with access to coaching are addressed promptly. Increase NIKE allotment for women s sports in FY23. Provide hotel stays for women s teams, if the team requests it, for NCAA or Pac-12 Championship home competitions. 16
Recommendations Update the Athletics strategic plan tracking metrics so it is reflective of social and digital metrics. Hire two full time employees with social media and digital skills with an emphasis of supporting women s teams. (Publicity and Recruitment) Increase cross promotion of men s and women's teams. Continue to provide game guarantees to opponents relative to the nature of the specific sport and the market of the respective sport. Encourage Women s Basketball to explore the opportunity to participate in a Multi- Team Event per new NCAA legislation. Support the additional travel budget increase as requested. 17
Recommendations Construct enclosed space for halftime meetings at Kittredge Field. Construct permanent bathroom facilities at Kittredge Field. Upgrade East Campus bathroom facilities. Install lights at Prentup Field or re-engage in discussions with campus to relocate the soccer field. Strategize long term facility plans for women's tennis. Renovate the Ski Team s East Campus locker room. 18
