  4. ACYHA Culture Culture is the set of habits that allows a group of people to cooperate by assumption rather than by negotiation. Based on that definition, culture is not what we say, but what we do without asking. A healthy culture allows us to produce something with each other, not in spite of each other.   10. Goals For Placements To accurately and fairly evaluate our player s hockey ability and place them at the appropriate level to maximize development.

  11. Placements Process for 2022 We hold closed evaluations No parents or relatives will be allowed in the arena. Parent coaches and staff supporting evaluations are the only exception. 1stday, players will receive an placements jersey (Reversible). Keep POD jersey as will be practice jersey for the season. Players will keep the placements jersey during the entire process Parents should have all forms and checks turned in

  12. Placements Process for 2022 Players will need to remove any stickers on their helmets that are not ACYHA. Players will need to wear a pair of matching hockey socks, red breezers and white helmet during evals. Please make sure your player has their jersey and equipment before leaving for the rink. We will check each player s number and color before each session. We will have a parent (SafeSport certified) in the locker room hour before and 15 minutes after each eval session.

  18. 2022 Placements Structure: Day 1: (Plan will be posted on website) Both sessions will be mixed skill level divided by birthdate Full ice drills focusing on skating, stickhandling, shooting Small Area Games 2022 Evaluation Structure: Players will be placed in *Upper/Lower* groups after Day 1. Approx. Groups and session times will be posted on the website as soon as results are tallied each evening after sessions. *Groups will only be labeled Red and White* Day 2: Upper/Lower Groups Small Area Games Internal Scrimmage (4 on 4 and 5 on 5) 18

  19. 2022 Placements Structure (cont): Day 3: 5 on 5 internal controlled scrimmage Based on Day 1-3 scores and overall scoring across players, some players may not need to dress or skate on Day 4 Day 4: 5 on 5 Controlled scrimmage vs STMA Teams will be posted on the website on after last evaluation date. 19

Goalie Placements Goalie Skills Evaluation: October 4th Movement Skills: 7 total movements, basic goalie skills Shooting Stations 3 Drills Assessment drills on positioning and control Turn Drill: Goalie challenge with a focus on small movements and tracking Y Drill: Spatial Awareness and tracking to completion Hi-Low Drill: Forward and Backward movement with spatial awareness *Evaluators may change drills based on observations to further assess skill levels 23

Our interactions with the Evaluators will be limited to process execution, process adherence, and process clarification.   25. Players Must attend all sessions unless excused because of injury, illness or conflict. Parents Should NOT approach or talk to Evaluators before or after evaluation sessions All communication should be done through the Coordinators ACHYA Placements Roles & Responsibilities Coordinator must be notified ahead of time with as much advance notice as possible. Good behavior, Inappropriate conduct on or off the ice could affect a player s score and team placement 25
