THE HOOK FOCUSING THE ATTENTION OF THE ADULT LEARNER What: Questions, stories, activity, discussions, etc. How: Activities that take the nature of adult learners into consideration Learning is often at its best when the curriculum is developed to meet the specific needs of the learners
THE BOOK COMMUNICATING BIBLE CONTENT TO ADULT LEARNERS The Bible is written by adult, for adults Teaching should be basic, truthful, deep, creative Purpose To discover what God is actually saying in a passage being studied and to help learners gain a clear understanding of God s message How? Readings, projects, interviews and surveys, questions, problem solving, written assignments, group work
THE LOOK GUIDING INSIGHT WITH ADULT LEARNERS LOOK is based in a context of openness The key: Openness and meaningful discussion Re: It doesn t come quickly or easily! Discussion should be clearly centered on the Word of God and should encourage expression of each person s experience with Christ Purpose To help adults explore the implications of this truth and to help them define areas of life where they need to become more responsive and obedient to the Word of God

To guide the learner in identifying a personal application for the future and to make a commitment to take the action of the lesson
