Formulation of artificial syrups 1. non-nutritive syrup Sugar free syrups. Glycerin and alcohol not always the best choice in DM patient. Glycogenic substances.
Diabetic Simple Syrup Na CMC 1.5% Sweetening agent qs. Preservative qs. Purified water qs.
Natural gum and acacia are not colorless. Na alginate =0.1-0.2% and MC, why? Na cyclamate is alternative to Na alginate.
2. Sorbitol based syrups It is not absorbed from GIT Have a laxative effect in some cases. Less than 60% needs presrvatives
