The Diploma Programme 1. Three subjects at Higher Level (240 hours) 2. Three Subjects at Standard Level (150 hours) 3. Three Core components 4. Grading system: 1-7 5. Minimum pass - 24 points 6. Maximum pass - 45 points
Internal Assessments Students will be required to meet all deadlines, especially first drafts. Students will be required to create shared documents with their teachers. (Monitoring and tracking performance) Students must not get substantial assistance from parents, peers, external tutors when writing their IAs (Academic Integrity). First drafts of internal assessments should include citations and meet the specified word count.
Fieldwork/ lab work For experiments and lab work, it is recommended that students choose and work on investigation topics that can be managed in the home environment, under the remote guidance of their supervisor. If this is not possible, students should explore a research topic using secondary data.
Extended Essay 3, 500 - 4,000 words Set weekly targets in terms of word counts. Reduced homework during these weeks. Time-management is crucial Secondary data can be used for the Sciences. EE coordinator/EE supervisor and librarian
Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) With the COVID-19 around, how can my ward complete CAS? **Completing CAS projects and updating reflections immediately. 1. Creativity - Designing a website or blog, writing and publishing a short story, learning how to play a musical instrument or learn a language online etc 1. Activity - Walking or running to lose weight, yoga, aerobic etc 1. Service - Students need to work virtually to accomplish service engagement. Eg. collaborate with local agencies to plan an event
TOK TOK presentations with TOK coordinator, through zoom. Students will use kognity to access textbooks. TOK essay topics late October/early November.

Parent Expectations 1. Reinforce the use of the device for learning at home. 2. Establish routines and expectations 3. Provide a quiet place to learn 4. Stay in touch ( Ask everyday about their day) 5. Help students own their learning 6. Begin and end the day by checking-in. ( device, Internet, other necessary items for the lessons) 7. Establish times for quiet and reflection. 8. Encourage physical activity and exercise
Parent Expectations 9. Manage stress by getting support from the Counseling dept. 10. Monitor time on-screen and online 12. CREATE A GMAIL ACCOUNT TO REGISTER IN GOOGLE CLASSROOM TO GET AUTOMATED WEEKLY UPDATE. Update your email account in the padlet. 13. Communicate with School as soon as a problem or challenge is presented 14. Fill Parents Surveys when requested to help with feedback 15. Make sure students have breakfast before they start the lessons at 8:20 am to join their homeroom session and start their day.
