Why Alma LIBIS is service provider for libraries, archives and musea. For libraries we operate 3 networks LIBISnet(KU Leuven, Colleges, National Bank of Belgium, ) PBS (public library network of province Vlaams-Brabant) OpenVlacc (central catalogue for Flanders) Experience with library software => LIBIS became Alma development partner To consolidate and streamline workflows and the backoffice softwares. Alma@LIBISnet
Where are we? We just went live on July 15 & August 5 2014 In 2 clusters We have 33 Alma institutions live (31 institutions + a Network Zone institution and a sandbox) 2009: development partner Testing testing testing 2012: change management sessions with library management team of KU Leuven 2013: Network Zone, train-the-trainer, ILL workshop, testconversion, recruitment of Alma experts, Alma@LIBISnet
Where are we? 2014: March-April: workshops & demo s, preparing documentation May-June: training by the Alma experts 400 librarians About 30 sessions (most of them hands on) July August: final migration in 2 clusters August September: 10 follow up sessions and extra training September-October: new start up working groups Alma@LIBISnet
Where are we? We try to settle down at the moment NOT 3 Alma certified administrators more to come 50 calls at hotline 500 issues in the helpdesk (80% solved) 25% Resource Management 20% Acquisitions 25% Fulfillment 15% Primo 15% Other (user management, printing, ) STP + list Upcoming mergers of Alma institutions Reference visits Alma@LIBISnet
Highs & Lows Lows Migration Only one real test migration Data migrated as is Vendors migrated only once (at test migration) Network Zone functionality too limited at the moment Performance Different teams/people: implementation, development, migration teams STP + list Alma@LIBISnet
Highs & Lows Highs Alma Analytics Search (persistent search box, advanced search) For librarians: simple tools/interface to run jobs Fulfillment: Follow up of reservations Fulfillment configuration utility It s getting better every month Alma@LIBISnet
