Alpine pixel detector : integration and services Outer pixel installation : layers 2 and 3 = permanent part Pre-installation of the type II services (electrical cables and fibers) on the flange Outer pixel assembled on surface Insertion of the full outer pixel in one go inside the PST VIP board at the end of the pixel package (PPB1) Connection of the C side with extra length (optical cable, powering cable, cooling) Slide of the outer pixel up to the other side Connection of the A side Slide back of the outer pixel in final position Pull-back and final routing of the services Nicolas Massol 5
Alpine pixel detector : integration and services Inner pixel installation : layers 0 and 1 = removeable part Final type II installation up to powerbox and optobox on the flange Inner pixel assembled on surface Insertion IBL like inside the IST with electrical type I services wrapped Unwrapping in situ, both sides in parallel Routing and connection of the type I services up to the corresponding boxes Inner pixel replacement Cut of the services at PPF1 level, both sides Extraction of the inner pixel Removal of the residual part of type I services after cooldown New insertion as seen previously Nicolas Massol 6
Integration and services : our skills Knowledge based on IBL IBL services management = step toward the next pixel detector Deep knowledge of the cavern environment Great experience in services installation know-how based on IBL Ultra compact fitting for the cooling circuit Electrical break including brazing technics Industrial electrical custom connectors Highly complex dedicated harnesses Wrapping technics really efficient for the insertion Collaboration Already started with Grenoble (LPSC) Excellent know-how of installation tooling Good knowledge of the environment, external services Will start soon with Raphael team at CERN Will be initiated with UK team to add rings in the very forward layout Nicolas Massol 7
