  3. Your journey begins as a chapter officer attending Region Conference You will be inspired, educated, enlightened, trained and entertained!

  4. The HUB was designed and implemented to provide each member the tools to grow. An online member portal, where Ambucs can update their contact information, record their chapter activities, read news, and access educational materials. WWW.AMBUCS.ORG Utilizing the RESOURCES tab AMBUCS Glossary is located under the Chapter Education tab along with a Ramp Building Guide, a Chapter Toolkit, the ABC s of Parliamentary Procedure and much more. The Forms tab well have lots of forms you need. Officer Education provides a plethora of engaging topics.

  5. Chapter Region National Big Hat Once you have served as your Chapter Big Hat President you can campaign for Region Big Hat President. There is a $100 nomination fee to be paid at your Region Conference Big Hat meal and auction. This one-year term includes bringing your region Big Hatters together for fun events, showing why chapter members want to be a Big Hat, having fun, and helping each chapter in your region grow membership and in turn grow new Big Hatters. You are also a member of the National Big Hat Executive Committee. You will be in charge of the Region Big Hat meal and Auction and raising a bunch of money while having fun. More details can be found in the National Big Hat Bylaws. Did we mention having fun?

  6. Chapter Big Hat president Chapter Big Hat President - Term of office is June 1 to May 31 concurrent with AMBUCS chapter offices promote involvement in chapter activities. Promote membership into Big Hat Club. Conduct chapter auctions/fundraisers as desired. Conduct chapter Big Hat Business Meetings. Preside over election of successor. *this should coincide with chapter officer election - Conduct formal induction into Big Hat Club with presentation of hat to new Big Hatters. - Maintain financial records. *maintain chapter in good standing status by ensuring yearly National dues are paid on time. Support District, Region, and National auctions. Serve as Sheriff at Region Big Hat Auctions. - - - - - -

  7. Region Big Hat Director Region Big Hat Director Prerequisite: - must have successfully served as Chapter Big Hat President. Term of office one year starting June 1 to May 31. Plan and conduct a Big Hat Auction at Region Conference (follow National Auction model agenda) *conduct a Big Hat Business Meeting. *membership vote determines distribution split of proceeds from auction between AMBUCS Scholars, Ambility and/or Cornerstone. *preside over election of successor. *present proceeds Club check or cashier check only (not cash) from auction to National Office within 30 days with detailed notes with chapter names and amount spent: May use assistance from another Big Hat member to prepare report. *be responsible for finding a replacement & certifying eligibility of that candidate *prepare a brief report on auction and distribute to National Big Hat Officers, including the amount raised, distribution split and to whom it was presented. Conduct auction at Region Conference serve on National Big Hat Board. Serve as Sheriff at National auction, attend National Exec and board meetings. Conduct convention pin sales at Region and National auctions left over pins and money to be turned in at National auction. Maintain financial records. - - - - - - (Nominations for Region Big Hat Director require a $100 fee.)

  8. National Big Hat Officers President Vice president Secretary/Treasurer The Black Hat!!! Serve 3 years on the National Big Hat board and receive your Black Hat!!

  9. National Big Hat President Duties: a) Preside over the National Big Hat Club at the National Conference. Preside over annual Board of Directors meeting, annual business meeting, and any other meetings of the National Big Hat Club, whether special, annual, or otherwise. b) Provide a Big Hat page for each issue of the AMBUC magazine to promote Big Hat members, when appropriate. c) Attend any and all National Ambucs board meetings/special meetings of National AMBUCS. d) Prepare and submit proposed operating budget for upcoming fiscal year, including all requested travel allowances for National Officers. All expenditures must first be approved by a majority of those assembled at the annual business meeting of the National Big Hat Club. Should funds remain at the end of the fiscal year, after all expenses have been paid, these funds MAY be donated to the AMBUC National program giving, or such other cause as the membership may select, by majority vote of those assembled at the annual business meeting of the National Big Hat Club. e) Hold quarterly National Big Hat Executive board meetings or at any other such time as needed and such meetings may be held by means of phone, email, remote communications including telephone or video conferencing. f) g) Send a welcome letter to all new Big Hat members and include the chapter Big Hat President by mail, or some other form of communication when notified of new member from AMBUCS Resource Center.

National Big Hat Vice President Duties: A report of total receipts and disbursements shall be prepared by the time of the annual business meeting of the National Big Hat Club and is to be presented to the membership. Provide minutes and Treasurers report from the last business meeting to be approved. Appoint deputies as necessary to properly perform the following duties during the annual meeting of the National Big Hat club: - Post deputies at the door to check credentials of all wishing to attend the annual business meeting or any other Big Hat function. Only Big Hatters in good standing are to be admitted. Collect all fines as levied and turn the collected fine monies over to the National Big Hat Secretary/Treasurer Assist Secretary/Treasurer with collection of auction monies, and any other funds collected during the National Big Hat meal at National Conference; and assisting with correct chapter identification for proper credits. Assist with Secretary/Treasurer and the AMBUCS Resource center to ensure all monies have been deposited and all funds have been allocated to the proper program giving areas as approved at the National Big Hat business meeting. Attend quarterly National Big Hat Executive board meetings or any other meetings as needed and such meetings may be held by means of phone, email, remote communications including telephone or video conferencing. Attend any and all National Ambucs Board meetings or special meetings of National AMBUCS (Non-voting member) a. b. c. d. e. f.

  11. National Big Hat Secretary/Treasurer duties: Record or write minutes of all meetings and send report to National Big Hat Executive Board. Work with AMBUCS Resource Center to ensure billing invoices are sent out by June 1 for each Big Hat member. Follow up with AMBUCS Resource Center 60 days later for a second billing to go out to each Big Hat Club chapter that has chapter members in the arrears. Get a report of individual Big Hat members in the arrears from National Ambucs and have report at National AMBUCS Conference and collect money. Request monthly bank statements from the AMBUCS Resource Center to be emailed to all National Big Hat officers. Responsible for collections, documentation and credit given to each chapter of auction monies spent and all auction, fundraiser, voting, fine funds or any other funds collected during the National Big Hat meal at National Conference and all monies and credit card information is to be given to an AMBUCS Resource Center staff representative. Prepare a report for the National Big Hat officers and the AMBUCS Resource Center after all fundraisers have concluded and money has been recorded. Work with the AMBUCS Resource Center to ensure all monies have been deposited and all monies have been allocated to the appropriate areas as approved at the National Big Hat business meeting. Create a quarterly National Big Hat Newsletter/E-Newsletter to be sent out by the 15th of the month each quarter. This office to be bonded or insured. Bond fee to be reimbursed to AMBUCS Resource Center by the National Big Hat Club. Attend quarterly National Big Hat Executive board meetings or any other time as needed. These meetings may be held by means of telephone, email, remote communications including telephone or video conferencing. a. b. c. d. e. f. g. h. i.
