"This comprehensive project aims to analyze the transport safety of nuclear power plants, identify safety gaps, engage stakeholders, and develop strategies to enhance safety regulations. The focus includes assessing international transport safety frameworks, addressing mobility across various modes, and considering nuclear propulsion. Recommendations will be made to enhance safety protocols and report progress to TRANSSC-53."

  2. Terms of Reference (revised) 1. Analysis of the mobility or transport of nuclear power plants by all modes based on existing international transport safety regulatory framework and identification of safety barriers and gaps. 2. Identification of relevant stakeholders, including their role, and international/national relevant information. 3. Interface with other groups (consultancy and international modal groups) via IAEA TSU. 4. Consider nuclear propulsion and confirm whether SSR-6 applies and if not whether it should? 5. Develop a road map to address the identified gaps Transportable Nuclear Power Plants (and potentially Nuclear propulsion) from a transport safety perspective. 6. Proposals regarding the development of IAEA instruments (SSRs, SSGs etc) for TNPP and nuclear propulsion and advise TRANSSC accordingly. 7. Submit a written report by TRANSSC-53 providing status of progress.
