Rabbits Seminar: September 12th 5:30pm in the Ag Shop - You must attend in order to get breeder information for rabbits (where to buy rabbits) We will go over supplies, housting, feeding, and care - Ownership date: September 30th - We will come to houses and check them October 1st after school Entry due date: October 8th @ noon

Rabbits Cost: Key information Breeding rabbits are bought from breeder, you do not sell them Market Rabbits are babies of breeder rabbits you will sell these Rabbits must be kept at your house Rabbits= $150-$300 Supplies= $200 Housing (build or buy)= $200 Feed= $100 Total: about $800 to buy and care for rabbits

  10. Broilers Time Dedication 6 weeks - (Dec. - Feb.) Including Christmas Break Chickens must be stirred/moved around multiple times a day and during the night. This project must be kept at your house.

  12. Turkeys - Total Cost +/- $800.00 Supplies Needed: Turkey Cost: $4.25 per bird Set of 5 - $21.25 Entry Fee $25.00 Shavings Plywood Fans Heat lamps Feeders Waterers Supplements

  13. Turkey Time Dedication 12 weeks - (Nov. - Feb.) Including Thanksgiving & Christmas Break Turkeys must be stirred/moved around multiple times a day. Turkeys must be let out of their pen to move around in an open area. This project must be kept at your house.

  22. Barn Rules Only the students who are raising an animal at the barn are allowed at the barn. While the student is expected to be present at all times, the student is allowed to bring immediate family members to an AgScience Center to assist with feeding or caring for the project. Immediate family includes parents/guardians, siblings, and grandparents. No siblings under the age of 12 are allowed in the centers unless accompanied by the parent. Only family members listed on the agreement Only family members listed on the agreement may be at the center. All should be prepared to show ID if asked by CFISD staff or may be at the center. One CFISD Animal per Person Barn Hours are from 5:30 AM - 10:30 PM

  23. More Information - What to do .. If your animal stops eating .Tell an Ag. Teacher first If your animal has diarrhea ..Tell an Ag. Teacher first If you are going out of town and someone else in the barn will be feeding for you ..Tell an Ag. Teacher. If you need a Veterinarian to come out to the barn and Ag. Teacher MUST be present. When there is a problem please, ask your Ag. Teachers first.
