Animals have always held a special place in Indian culture. However, with urbanization and human greed, they are often exploited and mistreated. Good animal welfare involves ensuring health, comfort, nutrition, and safety, while preventing suffering. Various examples highlight the need for enhanced protection of animals in different sectors such as entertainment and research. Efforts by NGOs, government, and educational programs aim to raise awareness and promote better treatment of animals.
