Apache Kafka: Real-Time Messaging System
Apache Kafka is a high-performance, real-time messaging system developed by Linkedin and open-sourced in 2011. It provides distributed and partitioned messaging capabilities, with the ability to handle node failures and automatic recovery. Kafka uses a publish-subscribe model for passing messages between producers and consumers, with data centralized through brokers, topics, and partitions. Many big companies including LinkedIn, Microsoft, Netflix, and Uber use Kafka in their systems.
