INTRODUCTION Arabic learning has two types of forms, namely, learning as a system and Arabic as a system. Learning as a system at least includes students, educators, materials, methods and evaluations ( Atha,1998: 22-23). Then regarding Arabic which is said to be a system, then Arabic has a real meaning, namely Arabic includes various linguistic angles consisting of grammar, conversation, reading, writing and translating ( Atha, 1998:52). Then regarding teaching Arabic requires a method, this method is very supportive so that the material presented can be understood and understood by students properly and correctly. The method is an effort (way) taken by the teacher in delivering a subject matter to students. Then the teacher must think about efforts to deliver subjects to design a series of subjects that are interrelated with each other (Muhammad, 1981:8). As is the case in teaching Arabic through the book of durusul lughah al arabiyah, one of which uses the qiro'ah method. In learning a foreign language, to achieve success in language skills and proficiency, a reading method is needed (Nababan,1993:19). The purpose of foreign language learning is the use of the reading method or the qiro'ah method in order to improve students' proficiency in mastering scientific texts in foreign languages related to the learning they are engaged in (Hermawan,2013:192). The targets in learning foreign languages using this reading method are students who are at the middle level and high school students. Reading is one of the business activities in studying knowledge, starting with reading aloud to interpreting scientific texts (Akasahtia,2021:104-105).
In teaching Arabic that uses the media of an Arabic book, as in the book of Durusul Lughah, the qiro'ah method is used as a learning system that is widely used in Salafiyah Islamic Boarding Schools in teaching studying or studying the Yellow Book. Zainuddin Syarif in book titled The dynamics of pesantren education management from traditional to modern page 48 , suggests that the yellow book learning in mosques mostly uses the qiro'ah (reading method) and al sima' (listening method) methods and in learning they tend to use techniques lecture, namely communication in one direction in learning the yellow book. In the application of a method in teaching or learning, there is usually an evaluation, which is called the evaluation of Arabic teaching. Evaluation is an action related to assigning a price or value to something or someone, so that the price or value is tied to what or who is assessed in the evaluation activity (Syihabuddin,2018:1). The Qiro'ah method is one of the methods used in learning Arabic, in this study it focuses on examining how to effectively evaluate the teaching of Arabic with the Qiro'ah Method in Learning the Book of Durusul Lughah al-arabiyyah at Salman ITB Bandung?
METHODOLOGY The research method used in this research is qualitative research with descriptive analysis approach. This approach was chosen according to the problem to be studied, namely how to evaluate the qiro'ah method in learning the book of durusul lughah al-arabiyah. Researchers believe that this qualitative method will answer problems that require an in-depth and touching understanding of the object under study in order to produce research conclusions in the context of the time and situation in question. This research was conducted at Salman ITB Bandung. In this study, researchers conducted research by conducting interviews with two teachers who were at salman ITB Bandung. Then after the researchers got the data from the interviews, the researchers analyzed the data with the theories used in this study. The purpose is that the data obtained at the time of the interview are adjusted to the theories used in this study. 5
FINDING AND DISCUSSION For the number of participants there are 26 people and for the teacher there are 2 people. Usually the participants in Arabic learning activities from the book of Durusul Lughah are level 1 to final year students and most of the participants come from various universities/colleges namely, ITB (Bandung Institute of Technology), UIN (State Islamic University) Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung , and UPI (University of Education Indonesia) Bandung. the Arabic language teachers make the material into chapters (sections) which will later be compiled as material for discussion in every meeting in teaching Arabic. Arabic teachers at Salman ITB (Bandung Institute of Technology) usually prepare in advance the books to be used, namely; the durusul lughah al- arabiyyah book to carry out Arabic language teaching Next, the teacher will ask students to repeat what the teacher reads from the contents of the durusul lughah book, then the students are instructed to read the contents of the material discussed on their own, then proceed to a question and answer session on the material that has been discussed and finally the teacher gives questions to students. Then in the process of teaching Arabic from the book of Durusul Lughah al- arabiyyahthe teachers will give an example on the blackboard, then the teacher will explain the example written on the blackboard, after that it is stated what the theory or rule looks like, so the students are instructed by the teacher to read the book Durusul Lughah al- arabiyyahwhich is adjusted to the chapter to be discussed. In carrying out the evaluation of Arabic teaching at Salman ITB, they usually conduct evaluations in the form of practice questions, assignments written on folio paper, and evaluation forms made using a g-form (Google Form) which contains an evaluation that includes material that has been taught
CONCLUSION From the conclusion above, that teaching Arabic at Salman ITB Bandung uses the qiro'ah method in which the teacher gives examples first and explains the theory and rules. In the teaching process, participants will be instructed to read the contents of the durusul lughah book and the teacher will read and after the teacher has read the teacher will ask them to read it individually and will continue with questions and answers and training questions. In the evaluation process, the teacher will make practice questions, questions made in the G-form consisting of basic intermediate questions. and 7
