Covid-19 and Predicting the Future Since the Covid-19 infection rate is difficult to predict, parents will have choices. Parent Choice Deadline Number of Students Time Period September - December January - March ? 7/29 An initial choice is made by Wednesday July 29th. ? 11/20 Parents can revaluate their choices on 11/30 & 3/5. April - June ? 3/5 There remains the possibility we will ordered to return to remote learning at any time over the next school year.
Teams In-school Teams Remote Teams The number of teams will match the ratio of in-school to remote students. Teams will need to be adjusted as the ratio changes.
Interventions & Supports The goal of Archbishop Damiano School s Reopening Plan is to minimize risk of a Covid-19 infection, while gradually returning the school to normal functioning. When school reopens, we will focus on infection control first, instructional and therapy times will be shorten to allow time for disinfecting.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Surgical masks, face shields, goggles, gloves, hair covering, booties, and gowns. All PPEs are currently on campus except for gowns. PPEs must be used as per directions in plan Staff must wear a mask or face shield in when not socially distance. Students are not required to wear masks. Parent will make the choice in writing. Other PPEs are optional depending on need. PPE must be treated as a biohazard and disposed of in marked pedal trashcans.
Handwashing & Hand Sanitizers All staff and students must follow the handwashing protocols outlined in the plan. When in doubt, wash. Hand sanitizers are available throughout the building. Use sanitizer when hand washing isn t immediately possible. As soon as possible after using a hand sanitizer, wash with soap and water for 20 sections.
Health Screenings Staff and students must participate in daily screenings. Temperature Screening Symptom & Contact Screening Students just prior to returning to school and daily thereafter Staff - just prior to the opening of school and weekly thereafter It is all the responsibility of all staff to report a confirmed Covid-19 contact, depending on the circumstance a 14 day quarantine may be required
Social Distancing Social distance between students of 6 is required. Staff should maintain social distancing to the degree possible while performing your job. When not actively working, social distancing must be maintained. Program adjustments have been designed to support social distancing and to minimize the spread of infection.
Program Adjustments Program adjustments are designed to support social distancing and to create small, closed groups within the school. Program adjustments begin with the most restrictive measures in Phase One and gradually remove restrictions through Phase 3. Program adjustments will be reduced as the likelihood of community transmission in our surrounding counties lessens.
Infection Control, Tracking, & School Closure If a student is suspected of having Covid-19, return to school can only occur: If the student presents with one symptom, the school nurse will call parent and evaluate if the student for Covid-19 exposure by completing a screening form. If no exposure, risk is noted the student may return when no symptoms are noted for 72 hours. If student presents with two or more symptoms a doctor s note will be required for return to school; the student can return to school at the doctor s recommendation. If the parent does not secure a return to school note form a doctor, the student will be required to isolate at home following current CDC guidelines for Covid-19. The student will placed on the remote instruction roster for the duration of the quarantine.
Infection Control, Tracking, & School Closure If staff is suspected of having Covid-19, the negative Covid-19 test must be presented for the individual to return to work. If negative test results are obtained within the 14 days, the individual should notify the Principal and Human Resources Generalist 24 hours in advance that they can return to work. If the staff person tests positive, at minimum, a 14-day quarantine is required followed by a negative Covid-19 test before the individual returns to work..
Infection Control, Tracking, & School Closure It is the responsibility of Archbishop Damiano School assist the NJDOH with contact tracking by: Contacting the Gloucester County Department of Health whenever a suspected case of Covid-19 is identified among students or staff. Maintaining accurate attendance records, Maintaining accurate staff assignment records. Maintaining an accurate visitors log, Maintaining an accurate volunteer log, Maintaining accurate schedules that document student and staff movements outside of their assigned areas.
Infection Control, Tracking, & School Closure If as confirmed case of Covid-19 occurs within the school, the Principal in consultation with the school nurses and the Gloucester County Department of Health can close the school for a minimum of 48 hours. The Governor maintains the right to issue another Health-Related Emergency Closing order at any time during the upcoming school year.
Communication The ADS Reopening Plan will be shared with all stakeholders. Copies have already gone out to staff, sending school district and the Gloucester County Office of Education. Parents will receive their copy early next week. All other stakeholders will be notified by August 3
