  2. USING : A , AN , THE A An The used in front of singular countable nouns (person, animal, thing ) which are not specific. . We use (the) in front of all nouns ( plural or singular /; countable or uncountable ) to describe someone or something specific or unique: .. (An ) is used in front of a singular noun which starts with countable nouns which are not specific . . (An ) is not used before uncountable and plural nouns. ..(a) is not used before uncountable or plural nouns. . The earth , the moon , the air , t . Iif a noun starts with a vowel sound (a, e, I, o , u ) comes before the noun: .. If a noun starts with (a) consonant sound (b,c,d,f,g,h,j,k , etc. ) (a) comes a noun. the weather, the world ,. the president , an apple, an hour, an aunt, an uncle, an , egg , . a cat , a house, a boy, a table , .

  3. THERE IS NO ARTICLE (THE) : 1. with years ( 1975 was a wonderful year. ) 2. With uncountable nouns ( Milk is often added to tea.) 3. With the names of individual mountain, lakes , and islands: Have you visited Long Island? 4. With most names of towns , streets, stations and airports: She lives in Rome.
