Assessment Methods and Language Skills Testing
In the EFL classroom, informal assessment methods play a crucial role in evaluating students' understanding. Teachers can utilize various techniques such as note-taking, observation of body language, and usage of revision units to gauge comprehension. When it comes to testing language skills, both productive (speaking and writing) and receptive (listening, reading, and grammar) skills can be assessed through integrative and discrete tasks. Different formats, including table completion, guided writing, sentence transformation, and picture description, can be employed for evaluating different language competencies.
