AssessmentUCL Student Survey Qu.3 - Overall experience with AssessmentUCL & WISEflow (Comment Sentiment) 13% response rate More than 75% of respondents thought the platform was easy to use Most frequently accessed training tool was the practice exam, with over 80% of respondents using it before their first exam. Negative 36% Over 75% of the respondents had positive views about exam Positive 64% instructions; they received sufficient guidance and knew what to do during their exam(s).

Student Survey Main themes Most positive responses were regarding the overall experience with the platform, whilst negative responses were specific regarding a problem experienced Positive Negative Great experience Lack of submission hour timer & clarity as to when a student would receive it Easy to use and had no problems Only allowing one submission within the exam timeframe The practice exam was very helpful Enjoyed the flexible start times of 24hr exams Only accepting one file type (PDF) Helpful that cover sheets were separate as students did not not have to merge pdfs More links to the website on Moodle and the UCL website Countdown was clear and useful FlowMulti was not useful and hard to navigate Videos were helpful More subject specific cover sheets

Student Survey Section breakdown Support and training BEFORE your exams/coursework deadlines Support DURING exams Assessment communications 96% of respondents received information about the online platform in time to prepare for their exam(s). 75% of comments were positive regarding the support they received before their exam/s 72% of comments were positive regarding the support they received during their exam/s Comment themes: Comment themes: Comment themes: Practice exam should better reflect each type of exam Lecturers/departments are not clear on the platform Received the information too early & it got lost in all the emails Students appreciated when departments provided prior training Cover sheet was complicated & could be more specific for each exam Would like to have all information regarding the platform in one place (i.e. UCL website) Support is needed for the entire exam duration (overseas students)

AssessmentUCL Staff Survey Qu.9 - Please comment on the usability and/or functionality of AssessmentUCL (Comment sentiment) 14% response rate 42% of the respondents chose to mark externally of the system, either via another application or offline. 58% chose to n/a 14% Positive 20% mark using the functionality of the platform. 64% of comments were negative regarding the staff experience of marking using AssessmentUCL/WISEflow compared to other systems Negative 66% 66% of comments were negative regarding the usability & functionality of the system

Staff Survey Main themes The negative responses focused very specifically on the missing functionality that staff members would have expected on AssessmentUCL Positive Negative Could easily download a batch of scripts to mark offline, with good filename convention etc. Not possible to separate out questions for different people to mark Want to be able to open multiple scripts at once Better for double-blind marking Useful that the marks are automatically sent to portico Quick comments were not possible Had to manually choose the sharing preferences for each comment The moderating process was more efficient With implemented enhancements happy to use the software Unable to upload scripts that had been marked offline with comments

Staff Survey Section breakdown Platform Functionality Usability Issues & Support 58% of the staff who responded to the survey chose to mark on the AssessmentUCL platform 66% of comments were negative regarding the usability & functionality of the system 58% of respondents were positive regarding the support given for AssessmentUCL Comment themes: Comment themes: Comment themes: Annotation was difficult including using the hand annotation tool It is clunkier and slower than other systems Written guidance & videos were clear and helpful Not convenient to always be online to mark Not enough time to learn the system System should not require training Drop-in sessions & in person training are the most helpful Want to mark question by question not script by script (& separate out marks for each question) No quick way to upload marks which were recorded off-line
