Pre-Requisites For all demos that follow, the auto-scheduler requires that the matchups for the round have been created already. When not leveraging linked Sportsheadz teams, you ll need to know when each team can play their home games This can be either a generic day of the week, time, location; and/or Specific dates, times, and locations When not leveraging linked Sportsheadz teams, it will be beneficial to know when *all* teams are unavailable (like a holiday) as well as when individual teams are unavailable (due to a tournament) When leveraging linked Sportsheadz teams, most of this can happen automatically. It s also possible for any combination of linked and not linked teams to exist to use the auto-scheduler.
Auto-Scheduler with No Linked Teams To use the auto-scheduler without any linked teams, you ll need to manually supply the home dates for each team, and the blackouts for each team. The simplest way to do this is to supply the weekly game slots that each team will use. Since this may also end up using holidays when those days of the week happen to land on a holiday, you ll also use an all-team blackout for holidays to ensure no games are scheduled during a holiday break. It is also possible to supply specific dates for both the slots as well as team-specific blackouts.
Auto-Scheduler with Linked Teams, Just Tournaments This adds to the previous auto-scheduling capabilities shown, except that it also automatically adds team-specific blackouts for teams tournaments. Associations who use Sportsheadz for their website will almost certainly add their teams tournaments to their scheduling modules so this isn t any extra work for anyone to have to do. Probably just want to ensure there s a deadline for this information to be entered so that it s available when using the auto-scheduler.
Auto-Scheduler with Linked Teams, Tournaments & TBA Game Slots This adds even more to the previous scenarios, in that the game slots available for each team are automatically included on the auto- scheduler page. The concept of using TBA game slots in the scheduling module of a Sportsheadz website is well-known and has been used for over a decade to help plan out schedules prior to schedules being built. For associations who don t already do this, usually all it takes is a quick training session to show the benefits and how it ultimately saves time This is by far the most efficient way of communicating the slots available for each team, since it will also account for the specific dates not available due to other reasons, such as facility unavailability.
