What is it? An adapter that uses a car s Onboard Diagnostics II (OBD II) port to collect data. The data is presented in an easy-to-use interface via a smartphone app or web page that displays driving behavior and the car s current status. Components Physical The adapter has a white casing with a cap and the Automatic logo. The adapter has an OBDII plug, allowing it to work in most U.S. cars made in 1996 and later. Connected The OBDII reader to connect to the car s sensors and processors to collect data. Smart Connectivity The OBDII reader uses a 3G connection to connect to the user s smartphone and Automatic web account to display the data in apps. One model, the Pro, has a Crash Alert Service.
