I love travelling and my dream is to see the wonders of the world. My son is going to university this year and I will have an empty nest , but he s only in London. What I want for this class: To build an effective parent teacher partnership which can support our children academically, morally and spiritually. Children to be the best version of themselves and become a decent human being by demonstrating the Avanti values and character virtues in everything they do. Experience: I started as a TA in 2009 and have since worked in education for a number of years. I joined Avanti four years ago and I am currently KS1 phase leader, Science lead and Sustainability Champion. The activities from the learning menu are optional and are for pre-teaching the objectives at home so the child is prepared for their learning for next week. We will be looking at the homework in class and go through any questions that the children found challenging. (It will not be marked online) Every child has a spelling booklet where they will learn one list of words per week based on the phonics sounds they are learning in class and they will be tested on these words every Friday. Research consistently shows that regular reading to and with children will benefit them enormously. Read a wide range of books (fairytales, non-fiction, fiction, poetry, etc.). Please promote reading for pleasure. Reading Books changed weekly on Monday. Please ask your child to read these books with you and sign the reading logs weekly at the back of the home/school diaries. Library books (chosen by child) every Friday. Bug Club books available as well. Please read them with your child and ask comprehension questions using the reading dogs questions.
