MCHS Class of 2015 Noteworthy Highlights 100% SAT or ACT in the spring! Approximately 62 students will earn an A.A. degree! In addition, the majority of the class will earn 30-55 SAC units! 3.5+ GPA very strong

Where Will You Apply? Safety, Target and Reach Schools Safety - a 90% chance of admission Target - a 50%-50% or 40%-60% chance of admission Reach - a 10%-20% chance of admission Have Plan A, B and C Santa Ana College (Reapply: January 2016)

Calculating Your Eligibility The SAT score component for CSU is the sum of the mathematics and critical reading scores. (Neither ACT nor SAT writing scores are included in the calculation of the CSU Eligibility Index.) (Student s GPA ) x 800 + Your SAT (CR + M)Total If you apply for admission before you graduate from high school, you should compute your GPA using grades earned in "a-g" courses completed after the 9th grade. Do not include grades you expect to earn in courses you have not completed.

Current Average Tuition & Fees $13,400 per year
Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) Provides orientations, tutoring, advising, possible Summer Bridge programs or Residential programs, possible grants Historically educationally underserved, lower income, may need admission assistance, support to succeed, many can benefit May make a larger university more personal Only take students as Freshmen On UC application only one question (yes or no) On CSU application - online link after CSUMentor application has been submitted, need to answer a few questions, 2 online recommendations-send via emails The sooner submitted, the better chance to be accepted Many deadlines are the same as the college campus application
College Application Timeline Independent/Out of State Schools Need to look at school s website for requirements, deadlines, etc. Letters of Recommendation Common application- can be more convenient (www.commonapp.org) CSS/Financial Aid Profile (College Board) Possible Interviews - in person or phone Attend local school presentations-meet representatives

After the Acceptancein the Spring Register for University Placement tests don t forget to register (for March tests ) Campus Housing (some in fall at the time of application!) SAC placement tests Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) May 1st Request final transcripts: MCHS and SAC (June) MCHS office closes for the month of July Transcripts must reach your university by July (UC s: July 1; CSU s: July 15; Private/Out-of-State: Check for deadline)
