Avoiding Materialism The Enemy of Righteousness Lay up Deposit in Heaven (v. 19-20) It is about the surety of your reward on earth your deposit can be consumed and stollen. (cf. I Tim. 6:17-19) It is therefore not about taking a vow of poverty. It is not about owning property.(Acts 4:34-37, 5:4, Rom. 16:3-5) It s not about saving for future old age needs. (Prov.6:6-11) It is about COVETOUSNESS... (Lk. 12:13-21)
