VIEWPOINT One Water Solutions to Utility Challenges A clear about what won't change: our laser-focus on the needs of our subscribe rs and the water sector. We are th rilled to have subscribers, partners, and volunteers on six cont inents, all of whom bring incredible expertise to the table and will continue to play essential roles in our work . As we move to fully integrate our business processesand research act ivities, we will work with thesekey stakehold ers to ensure we take all of the steps necessary to cont inue to maximize our value to the entire water sector. s the leaders of the newly integrated organization , we are excited to share the changes in store for The Water Research Founda tion ( WRF). First, let's be Peter Grevatt Dennis Doll We will also remain com mit ted to cu tt ing-edg e One Water research and technology innovation that builds a bod y of science and has direct. actionable results. We will remain a solution -orient ed organizat ion. Our subscribers and stake- holders tu rn to us wit h their greatest needs, and we develop solut ions thro ugh research. Lastly, our commitment to integrity won't change. It's how we manage our research programs and how we run our business. Research projects will co nt inue to incorporate a competit ive selection process, the highest quality contro l measures, and a nationally-recog nized expert review process. What will change is the expansion of our focus on all water. We view drinking water, wastewater, reuse, and storm- water as an integra ted, One Water system. As the water sector's first One Water research and innovation organization, we believe benefits are realized when the barr iers historically separating tradit ional water systems are broken down. One Water is the guiding principle of WRF and the fu tu re of th e sector. We'll still conduct research on the most important issuesaffect ing you, such as nutri ents, lead, stormwater, and more. However, we'll do this research with an eye towards the whole. As a One Water organization, we can assess issues in thei r entirety and develop coor dinated solutions. We're also excited about upco ming changes to the subscrip tion program. Our Rat e Strategy Committee is developing a unified organizational approach for WRF's research funding and subscrip tion programs. The Committee and the full Board are committed to implementing a One Water rate structu re, irr espective of water type, that is sustainable and equitable, and that will meet research needs over time. This is a mome nt of great excitement and great opportunity for the water sector. We will be working very closely with you to maximize our value and to expand our One Water research and technology innovat ion program s to ensure that we address your greatest needs. We are delighted to have the oppor tunity to work with you during this excitin g time. A FOND FAREWELL. All of us at WRF thank Rob Renne r fo r his 14 yea rs of dedicat ion and leader- ship to the organization, and wish him the best in his retirement.
