  11. Team Formation Process Non-parent head coaches of any team and parent head coaches named to the top teams prior to tryouts, will be allowed to attend tryouts should they choose to help in the evaluation process. Following the final day of tryouts at each level; the PDC will meet to review team selections and rankings and finalize coaching vacancies from the rosters that were formed. Any teams that are playing at equal level (ex. 2 C teams), the players for those teams will be selected every-other based on evaluator rankings but might be adjusted to make sure all teams have coaches assigned to them. Final teams will be posted to the association website Monday afternoon for PW, Squirts and 10U after the PDC meets to assign coaches and the board has approved rosters. Bantams will be posted Tuesday Afternoon.

  12. Post Tryout Player Evaluations Starting the first practice session post tryouts, each player will meet with one or multiple evaluators from the tryout sessions. Each player will be given a verbal evaluation as to their performance during the tryouts. Feedback of what they did well and what they need to improve on will be discussed. The evaluators will also utilize that time to answer any questions that the player has. Post tryout evaluations may extend to multiple days. If your child was not given an evaluation, please let the HD know.

  13. Post Tryout Parent Concerns Should there be concerns over your child s team placement once the rosters are posted, we require that the following steps be taken. Make sure the 24 hour cooling off period has passed Allow the evaluators the chance to meet with your player individually so they can receive their tryout assessment before any contact with the HD is made Have a discussion with your player about the evaluations. Your questions or concerns might be answered based off feedback they receive. If questions or concerns are not resolved after the post tryout evaluations, please contact your HD to express those concerns You may be given the opportunity to a sit down meeting with the ED, HD, Evaluators and members of the PDC/BOD if the HD deems it necessary.

  14. Injury or Illness Any player unable to participate in tryouts due to injury or illness will start with a team chosen by the PDC The Hockey Director and PDC may collaborate with last year s coaches for determining initial placement The PDC will make final team placement after further player evaluation

  15. Move up Policy effective Fall 2023 -Move ups will be allowed for all co-ed levels if a player is showing exemplary skill and potentially would be evaluated as a AA player at the level they would be moving in to for Peewees and Bantams. At the Squirt level, move ups would be allowed for a player who evaluated as an A or B1 player based off of their evaluation scores. Any parent who would like to have their player be evaluated at the next level must submit a written request to the HD no later than Sept 1 of that playing year to be considered. If the Sept 1 date is missed, your player will not be considered for a move up for that season. The PDC will discuss all applicants and make final recommendations to the board as to who we would support allowing a tryout. A formal response from the PDC to all applicants would come after board decision. If the individual in question is placed on the top team at PW or Bantam or the A or B1 team at squirts based off evaluation scores, they will have the choice to skate that season at their tryout level. If they are evaluated and do not make the team requirements above, that individual will be placed back into their appropriate age level. Attributes that will be taken into consideration when recommending a players/players will be the following, exemplary skill set, competitiveness, coachability, maturity, attitude, and respect. Each of these items should be on display at the highest of levels every day.

  16. Move up Policy Continued -Due to the fluidity in numbers within our girl s program, move ups will be discussed without the need of parent request. Move up requests will be at the discretion of our girl s co-op committee and may be utilized to boost team numbers or players at a given level. All move up requests are not a requirement and can be denied by the player or the parents. Our goal in the move up requests will always be to try to take the older players first but we will also take into consideration the skillset each player possess to ensure each player that does get asked to move up will be in the best place to allow them to succeed and develop. -Peer or Grade move ups are allowed for all of our travel teams. If your player falls into the category for a peer move up, please register your player at their designated level and send a peer move up request to the HD no later than September 1 of the playing year. Requests made after September 1 could be denied approval. -Girls to Co-ed moves will be allowed. Please register the player in her appropriate age group for the girl s side and send a move over request to the HD no later than September 1. Any requests made after Sept 1 will result in request denial.
