Choir PRIDE ACHIEVEMENT INTEGRITY The High School Choir had the opportunity to sing at the State Capital Received Excellent and Superior ratings at their Choral Performance Assessment Hannah Smithson, Mattea Smithson, Rose Pace, Maddy Roberts, Journee Brown, and Sarah Gibson made All-Region Choir

  8. Band PRIDE ACHIEVEMENT INTEGRITY Connor Cooper and Hayley Taylor earned All Star Band spots Sarah Gibson earned All-State in Concert Band Sarah Gibson, Hayley Taylor, Dakota Bryant, Landon Bird, Conner Cooper, and Gillian Inabnit all earned All-Region Band

  9. Student Council PRIDE ACHIEVEMENT INTEGRITY Middle School: Provided Christmas assistance to several families in need Attended Junior High Retreat and State Conference

  10. Student Council PRIDE ACHIEVEMENT INTEGRITY High School: Named 1 of the 3 diamond schools for their outstanding service and participation Lead the back to school assembly Went to the Humane Society each month on a Saturday morning to volunteer

  11. JAG PRIDE ACHIEVEMENT INTEGRITY Chenoah Hawk won an all expense paid trip to Washington D.C. to compete at the JAG National Competition JAG seniors participated in the Christmas for Kids Angel Tree Project by donating clothing and toys for 5 needy children in White County

  12. FCCLA PRIDE ACHIEVEMENT INTEGRITY Received the top 10 award at the Arkansas FCCLA State Leadership Conference They volunteered with AETN, local shelters, and community festivals They began hosting a clothing closet which offers clothing and hygiene products to BKSD students

  13. Dance PRIDE ACHIEVEMENT INTEGRITY The team consisted of dancers with little to no studio experience who continued to improve and lay the foundation for the development of a Sr. High Dance Team

  14. Peewee Football PRIDE ACHIEVEMENT INTEGRITY Served Students in 1st - 6th Grades 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade Teams qualified for the Playoffs Several parents, students, and community members came together to help serve these kids

  15. Peewee Basketball PRIDE ACHIEVEMENT INTEGRITY Served Students in 1st - 6th Grades Over 300 students participated Several parents, students, and community members came together to help serve these kids

  16. Yearbook PRIDE ACHIEVEMENT INTEGRITY Recognized for excellence and featured in the 2018 Jostens Look Book...1 of only 413 in the nation recognized Students work tirelessly to capture special moments of events all over the district

  17. FBLA PRIDE ACHIEVEMENT INTEGRITY Attended and competed in the District V FBLA competition Sabrina Inman, Haylee Bakeev, Sharidan Watson, Rebecca Espinosa, Drew Langford, Kaitlyn Dodson, Morgan Hill, and Kennady Rogers all placed in the top 10 in their events

  18. Beta Club PRIDE ACHIEVEMENT INTEGRITY Members collected donations for Air Force members who are deployed and delivered them to the Air Force

  19. Cheerleading PRIDE ACHIEVEMENT INTEGRITY Alexis McKnight and Tayler Roetzel performed at Walt Disney World due to their exceptional performances during summer cheer camp

  20. Golf PRIDE ACHIEVEMENT INTEGRITY Anna Pearrow finished in the top 5 in the state golf meet for the 2nd consecutive season Rhett Roach finished in the top 15 in the state golf meet

  21. Softball PRIDE ACHIEVEMENT INTEGRITY 1st Place in the D-Mac Tournament Conference Champions State Semi-Finalist Sharidan Watson, Kinlee Brimer, Hannah Smith, and Janna Smith all signed National Letters of Intent to continue their playing careers in college Hannah Smith, Kinlee Brimer, and Madi Pierce made All-State

  22. Baseball PRIDE ACHIEVEMENT INTEGRITY The team finished 2nd in the Conference and District The team qualified for the State Tournament The team traveled to Florida to participate in a tournament over spring break Brayden Roberts and Rhett Roach made All- State

  23. Jr. High Football PRIDE ACHIEVEMENT INTEGRITY Jr. High Football: Undefeated and Conference Champions The team helped the Highway Church of Christ pack boxes for need children in Nicaragua Members of the team read to elementary students during their bye week

  24. Sr. High Football PRIDE ACHIEVEMENT INTEGRITY Sr. High Football: Qualified for postseason play Jeremy Tharp made the All-State Team Members of the team worked together with Southside s football team to collect items and load trucks to send supplies to Houston for the hurricane relief efforts Every Friday morning team members help out in the elementary car rider line

  25. Girls Basketball PRIDE ACHIEVEMENT INTEGRITY Regional Runners-Up Madi Pierce and Kinlee Varnell both went over 1000 points in their careers Kinlee Varnell made All State Madi Pierce made the State Tournament Team Kensie Nixon received a full basketball scholarship to OBU

  26. Boys Basketball PRIDE ACHIEVEMENT INTEGRITY 3rd Place in the Lyon College Invitational 4th Place in the Lonoke Goldfish Classic The team qualified for the Regional Tournament for the first time since 2014 Stetson Smithson made All-State

  27. Boys Track PRIDE ACHIEVEMENT INTEGRITY Jr. High and Sr. High track teams were District Champions Nicholas Harrell and Phillip Freppon received recognition as All State Academic Team members (25+ on ACT and 3.5+ GPA) Phillip Freppon received All State in Shot Put

  28. Girls Track PRIDE ACHIEVEMENT INTEGRITY Jr. High Girls team finished 2nd place in the District with 10 students earning All District Sr. High finished 2nd place in the district with 7 students earning All District Honors Brylan Williams was chosen to compete in the Meet of Champs and placed 5th

Girls Track PRIDE ACHIEVEMENT INTEGRITY Brylan Williams and Katie Cooper are both participating in track at Harding University Brylan Williams and Katie Cooper were named to the All-Academic Track and Field Team (25+ ACT and 3.5+ GPA) Brylan Williams, Alexis Harris, Haile Byers, and Mikayla Shaw made All State

Trap PRIDE ACHIEVEMENT INTEGRITY The Jr. High placed in the State Trap Shooting Championships The Sr. High placed in the State Trap Shooting Championships Chase Martin placed 2nd in the Champion of Champions individual competition Chase Martin and Avery Strickland both received $2,500 scholarships at the O2 shootout

  31. Cross Country PRIDE ACHIEVEMENT INTEGRITY Competed in the boys and girls state cross country meet at Oaklawn Park Katie Cooper made the All State team

  32. Gifted and Talented PRIDE ACHIEVEMENT INTEGRITY 9 students qualified to take the ACT as a 7th grader through the Duke TIP program Elementary Chess team averaged 9 students for weekly practices and grades 3-5 traveled to compete against other schools in the county

  33. Chess PRIDE ACHIEVEMENT INTEGRITY Sr. High Chess Team tied for 3rd in the state Jagger Smith qualified for the All-State team

  34. Jr. High Quiz Bowl PRIDE ACHIEVEMENT INTEGRITY 2nd place in the Regionals 3rd Place at the State Finals 2 students were named to the All-Star tournament team

  35. Sr. High Quiz Bowl PRIDE ACHIEVEMENT INTEGRITY Most of the team consisted of students participating in quiz bowl for the first time 12 students participated last year and met every Wednesday morning at 7:15 Over 30 students signed up for this year s team

  36. Special Activities PRIDE ACHIEVEMENT INTEGRITY Alex Pugh, through our EAST program, was responsible for the display of artifacts in the cafeteria and middle school building 54 5th grade students attended Ocean Camp in Gulfport, Mississippi 1K Fun Run Walk at School

  37. Academics PRIDE ACHIEVEMENT INTEGRITY Micayla Burton, Cooper Busselle, Abigail Daughtery, Tyra Fritts, Alexis Kempson, Weston King, Jameson Hillis, Rilee Odom, Cody Schulist, Justin Smithson, Kynlee Thomason, and Kierra Tucker received the Presidential Award for Academic Excellence

Academics PRIDE ACHIEVEMENT INTEGRITY We honored each senior who made a commitment to go to college with our annual Senior Signing Day We have 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students visit a college campus every year Our 10th grade students also visit ASU- Searcy to discover available technical school options

  39. Academics PRIDE ACHIEVEMENT INTEGRITY Eden Johnson and Rylee Curd received a 3 on the AP Language and Composition Exam earning them college credit for Composition 1 Haylee Bakeev scored a 5 on the AP Language and Composition Exam earning her college credit for Composition 1 and 2

  40. Academics PRIDE ACHIEVEMENT INTEGRITY Derrick Courtney scored a 4 on his AP Biology exam earning him college credit for College Biology Haylee Bakeev and Nicholas Harrell scored a 3 on the AP US History exam earning them college credit for US History

  41. Academics PRIDE ACHIEVEMENT INTEGRITY Two JAG students, Lainie Gilbert and Kimberly Crosby Shipman received the Arkansas ACTE scholarship and were recognized at the state JAG conference 32 students received their MS Word certification 19 students received their MS Excel Certification

  42. Academics PRIDE ACHIEVEMENT INTEGRITY 29 students received their MS PowerPoint certification We had 14 students make the ACT Wall of Fame Derrick Courtney had a 35 on his ACT

  43. Academics PRIDE ACHIEVEMENT INTEGRITY Last year s seniors earned over $1,454,000 in total scholarship money We had 22 students enroll in concurrent credit classes and accrue a total of 213 concurrent college hours through UACCB

GT PRIDE ACHIEVEMENT INTEGRITY 3 part process Referral by parent, teacher, community Screening multiple screeners (both objective and subjective), teacher and parent inventory scale, and achievement tests Placement Committee consists of teachers, counselor, GT coordinator, and principal. A blind ID is used for each child. No single criteria or cutoff score is used.

GT PRIDE ACHIEVEMENT INTEGRITY Enrichment K-2 students meet once a week for 40 minutes Pullout Grades 3-5 meet for 150 minutes each week (research, produce products, work on things of their choosing) Grades 6-12 - services are provided through Pre-AP, AP, Honors, and Concurrent credit classes.
