  12. ATTENDANCE POLICY THREE TYPES OF ABSENCES EXCUSED ABSENCES Pre-arranged religious holidays, funerals, verified medical and legal appointments, and all school related activities, including ISS. VALIDATED ABSENCES Brief illness, appointments, & family business. A phone call or note is required to be validated. UNEXCUSED ABSENCES No note or phone call from parent/guardian, cutting class, tardiness of more than 10 minutes to class, and OSS. Due process requires that an appeal may be filed due to loss of credit because of absences.

Zero Grade Progression For the first three years a student is in high school, the student will advance from one grade level designation to the next based upon completion of a school year of attendance. To be classified a senior, a student must accumulate a minimum of 17 credits and have an un-weighted GPA of 1.9

  17. No exams administered early Grade of F entered until exam is made up If your student must miss a midterm or final you must schedule make-up Midterm Exams will be December 18-21. Exam days will be FULL school days this year.

Rigor of Schedule PSAT/College Admissions Tests All Sophomores & some Juniors take the PSAT in October All students that plan to attend college should take the SAT I and/or the ACT by the Spring of their Junior year ASVAB - Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery open to 10th, 11th, and 12th graders every year in October. Use of Naviance in ELA classes and at home. Naviance Students & Families Registration Dual Enrollment, Advanced Placement and AICE AP Capstone & AICE Diploma options to be discussed with students in Advanced Studies presentation.

  19.
