CEC Decarb Assessment (AB 3232) Scope Evaluates cost-effectiveness of strategies to reduce GHGs from space and water heating in new and existing residential buildings by 40% below 1990 levels Timeline April 15: Workshop 1 (Sacramento) Late April: Workshop 2 AB 3232 Scenarios and Analysis (Sacramento) Early May: Workshop 3 (Los Angeles) August: Draft assessment released & workshop November: CEC adopts the assessment
SB 1477 Scope CPUC to develop, in consultation with the CEC, two programs (BUILD and TECH) aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions associated with buildings. Phase 4 is an overall building decarbonization policy framework for the State. Proposed Decision on Phase 1 (Released Feb 12) $80M for BUILD Program ($60M for low-income housing); $120M for TECH Initiative 750 GWP refrigerant threshold for technologies Timeline Reply comments were due March 9 Phase 4 toward end of year

PUC Natural Gas Proceeding R.20.01.007 Scope: ..respond to past and prospective events that together will require changes to certain policies, processes, and rules that govern the natural gas utilities in California Over the next 25 years, state and municipal laws concerning greenhouse gas emissions will result in the replacement of gas-fueled technologies and, in turn, reduce the demand for natural gas.
