  1. MAN UP BIBLE SERIES IRON MAN 1 A Call to Mentor Lesson Two

  2. The Real World We all have people who believed in us. One of the first people I remember who said those words to me was my Aunt Dot. She inspired me to be better with the simple words.. I Believe in You! Those words transformed me from a kid who was looking for trouble into a young man who wanted to make a difference in the world he was living in. We all long for that person. Even today I want guys who believe in me. What a great motivation! If you do not have that kind of person I challenge you to be that kind of person for someone around you. It might be that teenager at the Corps or a young guy at work who needs just a little help in order to get the next promotion. Jesus knew that he needed some guys around him. He choose Twelve ordinary guys to transform the world. Let see what the Bible says..

  3. The Real Word Luke 6:12-16 New International Version (NIV) The Twelve Apostles 12One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God.13When morning came, he called his disciples to him and chose twelve of them, whom he also designated apostles:14Simon (whom he named Peter), his brother Andrew, James, John, Philip, Bartholomew,15Matthew, Thomas, James son of Alphaeus, Simon who was called the Zealot,16Judas son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor.

  4. Real Talk Do you have someone who believes in you? How does that motivate you? Do you believe in someone today? Have you told them that?

  5. Real Steps Benefits of having a Mentor: Promotes Genuine Growth and Change The Power of Belief A Model to Follow ( I Peter 2:21) Jesus to Peter Helps you Reach Your Goals Pick up the Pace God s Pattern for Your Life of Service (Acts9:27) Barnabas Mentors Paul Makes you a better man to all you Love (2 Tim 2:2) Paul Mentors Timothy Ecclesiastes 4: 9 10 Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor. For if one falls, the other will lift him up.

  6. Time To Close I want to close with a story of a man who believed. In the Spring of 1981 a businessman named Eugene Lang was invited to speak at the commencement of PS 121 in Harlem. He looked at this class of sixty - one elementary kids who had no future. He made a deal with them; For every kid who stayed in school and graduated from high school he would pay for their college! It changed a school. Fifty two kids finished high school and went on to college. That was twice the normal rate of graduation. What make the difference? Money? Maybe I think it was that someone believed in them. Who can you place this power of a good word on today? In the Bible we see it working.. Barnabas to Paul, Paul to Timothy it goes on and on. So take a chance today and invest in a young life Time to MAN UP !
