You cannot have a committee, team, or family of one; you need at least two people to compose the unit. Because people behave as both herd animals and solitary creatures, collective nouns can be either singular or plural, depending on context.

  11. Box 2 Copy the sentence correctly. Punctuating Dialogue. Use a comma to set off the speaker's tag (I asked her) from the beginning of a quotation. Place the comma inside closing quotation marks when the speaker's tag follows the quotation. Place a question mark or an exclamation point inside the quotation marks when it is part of the quotation.
